Shiroh Sagisu is a VERY talented composer, but he isn't a Yoko Kanno or a Yasunori Mitsuda. ^.^

NGE has great music, I am a big fan the Yoko Takahashi vocals at the beginning of Disc 3.

The best soundtrack I have ever heard of any show has to be Escaflowne. Simply the amount of talent it must have takent to create such complicated beautiful sounding music. *Sigh*

Whether or not you like the style you have to appreciate the talent of Yoko Kanno.

^.^ What is Yuje looking at right now? ^.^

Join the Fight! | Why we fight.

My favorite is Dimensions of love in Japanese. I listened to that song until I memorized it and can sing with it in Japanese. The other top four out of five, in this order,
are Christmas Dream(Midsummer's Eve Variation),
Autum Life ?( I don't know if that is the one where the guardians come back to life or not)Autum Life ?( I don't know if that is the one where the guardians come back to life or not), Washu's Lullaby (when Washu is watching Taro), and Sad Piano (when Tenchi is crying as a little boy about his mom dying).

My fav Tenchi songs are........

1.) Tales of Destiny (I think its Tenchi....)
2.) Alchemy of Love
3.) I'm A Pioneer
4.) Dimension of Love

I haven't heard Photon Proton Syncotron yet, so I don't know if it will end up on the list.

Also, I haven't listed the many Tenchi BGMs that I like.
Neo Kamidake

There are hardly any excesses of the most crazed psychopath that cannot easily be duplicated by a normal, kindly family man who just comes in to work every day and has a job to do.

No one is ever a villain in his own eyes, keep this in mind.

Once you accept his assumptions even a madman seems reasonable

Visit Neo Kamidake's Realm!

Quote:
My favorite is Dimensions of love in Japanese. I listened to that song until I memorized it and can sing with it in Japanese.

To really memorize something you need to be able to read or at least be able to reproduce Japanese consonant/vowel sounds. It sounds to me like you just know what the lyrics sound like. ^.^ It's a little different than memorization which is like you could write the lyrics in Japanese or at least romanji.

I was corrected when I told someone that I had memorized the Escaflowne and Neon Genesis Evangelion themes. Now, I have memorized them because I can read and pronounce romanji correctly. ^.^

Thanks to my girlfriend being a second-year Japanese studies major she gets cross whenever I mispronounce anything. ^.^

I've never really been a huge fan for the Tenchi music it's always been "fitting" never anything special. Of course it's a comedy series so the music doesn't need to do much of anything but help portray what the creator is trying to achieve in a given scene. Most of it is pretty simplicistic redundant music. And I am not a big fan of the English versions because the lyrics are pretty lacking and in Japanese at least you can pretend the lyrics are better.

Ahh Yoko Kanno, Shiroh Sagisu, and Yasunori Mitsuda you've all spoiled me so much with your good music! How can lesser composers ever compare?

^.^ What is Yuje looking at right now? ^.^

Join the Fight! | Why we fight.

The best of all Tenchi music is Love Song Ga Kikoeru. Why? Because even though I understand very little Japanese the voice is so well done that it becomes part of the music. This is as it should be with all musical productions, but sadly a lot of it comes up short.

The Happy Couple

Edited by: mjhennessey at: 7/27/02 6:34:51 am

My favorite would be "Tsuki no Tragedy" (which I'm listening to right now, actually). Next would be "Renai no Jikuu" (Dimension of Love). Ai Orikasa has the most beautiful singing voice ever.
