The mangas are a pseudo-OAV continuity. They branch off after the 1st OAV, but also include at least parts of the 2nd OAV. My theory is that the 1st & 2nd manga volumes take place before episode 7, and the rest take place after episode 13. Strannik posted an OAV timeline not too long ago.
