Kagato

What exactly is the history of Kagato? I heard that he is an evil copy of Washu's female friend from the student acadamy. Does this mean she created Kagato as well? And is so, who was this friend of Washu's? Washu's friend was called Naja. She is a character from the TTN I think, she is dead (or at least thought to be dead). She was Washu's best friend and helped her in her campain to make the Galactic Academy independent of Jurai, and also help in Wahu's attempt to recover her son. When she died, Washu made a male clone of her, Kagato. There are rumors that she will return in the 3rd OVA. I like to belive the therory that he was a good person at one time, but went insane, either after she dissapeared or the fight with Azusa, where he is rumored to have lost his original body. He's suposed to be a clone, but it's nearly imposssible to clone a man from a woman, that's where the Kagato is really a woman who stole a man's body theory comes in. All I know about Kagato is that he is with ease on of the coolest villians ever and the best villian in any Tenchi show or Movie

Well, Galaxia, as far as the cloning a woman as a man issue, let's remember that Naja & Washu had access to technology far beyond anything that exists here on Earth, and beyond that they were both super-geniuses who could improve on the existing tech. For all we know, it would be easy for Naja to take a sample of her DNA, extract an X-chromosome, replace it with a Y, and use it to create a clone. Though I think there was more to Kagato's creation than that. Given how similar his powers are to Ryoko's, beyond just the energy sword which Washu also has, I think Kagato is a Masu-based life form just like Ryoko is. The one about his really being a woman was the one where his new body was the prototype for Ryoko. And it would make more sence for him to have originally been a female or her actually son, why would you want a male clone? Illegal javascript event tags or url parameters detected.

Who knows? Maybe Naja wanted a son. Or maybe, if she were mixing Masu DNA with her own, she ended up with something that acted like a Y-chromosome. In other words, Kagato ended up male by accident. About the cloning thing, a male embryo has yy and a female embryo has a x and very rarely an X loses a leg so it becomes a Y and would make a female embryo a kind of male embryo (not a hermaphrodite) that could of happened to the clone. Or genetic engineering.

Washu Wanna be, When I first herd that cloneing thing, I thought Washu had tryed to clone herself a boyfriend. (Yes I know I've said that before somewhere, I still think if Washu was the one who made him, that's the reason.) Wanting son would be the most likely reason to make a male clone of yourself. Since nothing is official, we should wait for another OAV, or another Shin novel to tell us. Males also have high amounts of testostorone, the male hormone. If he were cloned from a woman, he would have more estrigene, the female hormone, and less testostorne than he should. It would explain why he's one of the few men over 40 on that show with no facial hair... Illegal javascript event tags or url parameters detected.
