Post subject: So much hate, children, children. Ryoko and Ayeka's defense.

I posted this recently.

You can't say that either of these character's pros out way her cons, or vise versa. THat's a to philosophical to be disputed as fact.

Hate Ryoko, fine. Hate Ayeka, fine. But the point of the matter is that it is INCREDABLY stupid to hate ANYONE. People can change. Ryoko nearly KILLED Tenchi in Episode 1, at that point she viewed Tenchi as a plaything, NOT a lover. But when Ayeka came, she began to see Tenchi as a lover, because Ayeka was. Seem shallow? It is'nt. It's perfectly normal, and morally correct. How? Ryoko liked Tenchi, ALOT. She felt if she were to ever have a friend, Tenchi would be it, and she did'nt want Ayeka to have a higher hold on him than she did. That is HUMAN to think that way. ANd she is'nt a Demon. She is Washu's specie, mixed with the mass. THe thing is, she can call herself and Demon or a Monster, in a joking form, but for some one else to call her that is a GREAT insult. She gets pissed at Ayeka when she yells "Demon!" at her in ep 4. Enough to summon a spirit monster to try and crush her. Ryoko tantalizes Ayeka, yes. She is HIGHLY insensitive to the fact that she attacked her on Jurai. When Ayeka attacked her in ep 2, this was a cross between needing to intergote her for inforamtion on Yosho, and spite for what she did on Jurai......... and you know what? I'm just going to post a HUGE long thing about their relation ship. Post it in GD and the Ryoko and Ayeka forums. This will be totally unbiased. Give them both their credit, and give them both their due.

Well, here is the promised topic. Here are all my opinions, and gathered information up to Episode 5 on Ayeka and Ryoko, and their little rivalry. Many of you need a "Tenchi Muyo 101" refresher coarse. And Here I am with a few days worth of lessons.

TO be perfectly frank, I am in fact 100% sick of all this "KILL RYOKO!!!" "ASSASINATE AYEKA" BS. Yes, it's time for me to just go ape @#%$ on all of you, ^_^ and remember, you brought this on yourselves.

Okay, lets start from the begining.

Kagato kidnaps Washu, blah blah blah, Ryoko is made, Kagato has control over her. He sends her to Jurai.

Ryoko manages to sneak past their defenses, and goes on a massive killing spree in an attempt to awaken Tsunami for Kagato. This was not of her free will. Don't give me that no one died BS either. THERE WERE SHIPS FALLING TO THE GROUND ON FIRE. PEOPLE DIED. This was Ayeka's first encounter with Ryoko. During this time, Tsunami did not appear, so Ryoko left. Yosho, who was'nt exactly happy with her himself, gave chase. Ayeka just was attacked in her own home, lost her lover, and had her kingdom left in quite a mess. It was their equivelent to 9-11. Just chaos. This is a VERY good reason not to like some one.

Ryoko fights Yosho on earth, he defeats her, takes her Gems. What exactly happens to her though is debatable. She seems to have been put into a deep sleep, or even killed. Her spirit could roam the caves, but not leave. From the cave, she watched life go by for the next 700 years. Yosho remained faithful to Ayeka, until the near end of that 700, when he finally settled down with an earth lady. Eventually Tenchi was born. She watched Tenchi grow up, and became fond of the little beggar. Eventually, Tenchi awakened her. It would seem the presence of her gems revitalized her. She then created a false gem, and used it to restore her body from a rotting carcass.

When Ryoko confronts Tenchi at his school in episode 1, I am pretty sure she was'nt in love with him yet. She was only playing games with him. It would'nt have shocked me if she accidently killed Tenchi, but really did'nt care when it happened. Just, "Oh crap..................... I think I'll go get some tacos.......". Aslo, see seemed more interesting in retreiving her Gems than anything, and letting out a bit of frustration from being in a damn cave for the last 700 years.

Of coarse, you know what happens. Ayeka finds Ryoko's energy, and decides to capture her, mostly for the point of interogatting her about her lost fiancee, but probably for a bit of pay back as well. When Ryoko's criminal record was wiped, yeah. She was upset. It would have been like us finally find Osama Bin Laden, and then his record being wiped clean. Not some thing that would sit well with alot of you. And no, I am not comparing Osama to Ryoko, I AM COMPARING SITUATIONS. Of coarse I would have went ahead and captured the creaton too.

No the torture scene in ep 2 is some thing alot of you hold against Ayeka. Yeah. Lets see here, she asks, rudely, but asks where her brother is pretty quickly off the bat. Ryoko won't say a word. She just kind of taunts Ayeka in fact "You royal types must be real bored." to come after a loved one. THAT IS A INSULT, A BAD ONE. Ayeka becomes highly pissed. Would'nt you? When she points the blame to Ryoko, which should be at Kagato, but she does'nt know that. Ryoko plays STUPID. "Oh. Is that what happened?". Yes, yes, not exactly some thing to say to some one who has you in your current position. Ayeka lets her guardians shock Ryoko. This gives her an ORGASIM. Which really freaks Ayeka out. All Ryoko does from this point is grin at Ayeka. Ayeka jabbs her with the master key. That hurt. Ayeka does hold it to her a little longer than she really had to, but....... hell......... If I had been Ayeka, and known as little as Ayeka did, I would have KILLED Ryoko. Dumped the body in space, and called it even. So, yeah, Ayeka was alot nicer about it than alot of people would be, and you all know it. Maybe even nicer than you. Wellm Ryoko tells Ayeka everything she knows. Ayeka does'nt question her answers. When Ryoko says she does'nt know were Yosho is, Ayeka does'nt go "LIAH!!!" Even though Ryoko is lieing. She knows, or thinks, Yosho died. That does'nt make much sense to me if she was able to watch from the cave, but, hey, no series is perfect. She does'nt believe Ryoko when she trys to tell her that Tenchi is Yosho's decendant. Mostly because Ayeka DID'NT want to believe it. Yes, Ayeka was a bit presumtious in capturing Tenchi as well. But that really could'nt be helped. Tenchi escapes, and is after her head dress and the master key. Ayeka wakes up, and Tenchi is on top of her in a very........... ungood (for her, good for Tenchi ) posistion. Yeah, I'd have beat his skull in. Certainly, he did try to explain, but she was'nt really in the mood to listen. It happens. Besides, she's just as hot tempered as Ryoko. And when she catches back up with Tenchi, she has had time to cool down..... and get some clothes on. She is'nt bent on killing him, but wants to put him away again.

Ayeka questions Tenchi about Yosho. She did'nt really want to believe that Tenchi could be his kid, because that would mean Yosho did the "sex" with another woman. She asks Tenchi about Yosho, Tenchi says "I think he died along time ago, does that help." Ayeka falls over obviously devastated by the truth she feared. And who does Ryoko add onto that moment? Ryoko, quite sarcastically: "Oh yeah. He died did'nt he? ..... that's to bad.". In a rage, Ayeka has Azaka and Kamedake attack Ryoko, and for some reason Tenchi. Yeah, so she's a raging bitch. So is Ryoko, give the girl a break. Ryoko grabs Sasami, and turns an energy saber on her. Once again, she is a raging bitch. Give her a break. Ayeka did'nt plan to kill anybody. Ryoko did'nt plan to kill anybody. Though I'm sure that if the situation worsened, they would have. Tenchi then uses the Master key, to fend off the vines that capture Ryoko. And the truth Ayeka most feared came true. Yosho had done it with another woman. This added salt to an already nasty wound. And although swallow, who do you think she is going to blame for all this? Who's attack on her home world led her half brother and betrothed to disappear for 700 long, achefull years? Why Ryoko of coarse!! ^_^ Given her lack of information though, this is justified.

Ryoko then rams Ayeka's ship. Yes, this is mean, but after all that crap, I would want her out of the way as well. And if any of you are wondering why I am defending Ayeka more, it's because Ryoko is a bad ass. That's what makes her Ryoko. There is little defending of a bad ass. They are already so cool they don't need it. It's like defending Vegeta, or Zechs. It can be done, but it would end up belittling their characters alot, even if it does help their image. BUT, here goes. Ryoko had established that Ayeka wanted to incarcerate her, statute of limitations or not. That much is true. She did'nt know that Ayeka would have HAD to let her go eventually, but still. There is no WAY she is going to live out another sentance. So, she tries to kill Ayeka, and Sasami. Time to ram their ship into the earth, at the very least that will disable them from capturing her. At the most, it's gonna kill them both.

So we have a basic idea of the first two eps. NO, for the last 4 in the first season. I promise, these will be a little shorter.

In episode three, we see Ayeka try to avoid Ryoko. She does appologise for being snappy to Sasami, showing she is'nt as snobby as many of you make her out to be. She at least does this, though she does throw a tantrum when she comes down stairs and Ryoko looks up at her from the sofa. "I HATE THIS!". Ryoko continues on with her inept sarcasim. Such a lovely family scene. Tenchi walks in, hilarity continues. The egg incident, Ryoko seemed to enjoy tantalizing Ayeka by making it look like Tenchi's child. Even laughs at her. Ayeka gets real upset, mostly because it is Ryoko doing this, and tries to leave, Tenchi grabs her arms, holds her, and tries to calm her, she tries to get away, and he won't let go. NEVER HOLD A WOMAN AGAINST THEIR WILL. SLAP. Ryoko found this hilarious too. Tenchi "complelements" her....... how see got "Have you got a consionce" into a complement is past me. But she sticks her hand down his pants. Asks where the sword is, Tenchi tells her he gave it to Ayeka. Funny, how she is doing sexual favors for him one moment, and choking him the next. She could have at least washed her hands ^_^ . She calmly lets go and crys. Maybe she realized what she was doing, and did'nt want to hurt him, maybe she is having a mood swing......... meh, it's always that time of the month at the Misaki house!!! So, we see Ayeka again, she is out in the field, crying over things. Can't blame her. When Ryo-Ohki comes up. She screams. And I think we all remember that smile she got on her face, yeah, that "I found a way to get even with Ryoko" smile. MURDER THE CABBIT!! But she dismisses these thoughts, and trys to shoo it away. She then just leaves. Hey, she could have done worse. She does'nt exactly want to be reminded of Ryoko at this time.

Eventually, after seeing a royal tear drop, she begins crying, gives up, and resorts to a sobby, "Leave me alone." to Ryo-Ohki. Soft spoken, not hateful, but at her emotional end. Ryo-Ohki comes to her with a flower, and we see a gental caring side to Ayeka, as she does what alot of people do, share her thoughts with an animal.

At the same time, we begin to see bonding between Sasami and Ryoko. A small amount. Just a few weeks ago, Ryoko was holding her hostage. Now, she uses her to mock Ayeka and as a small conversation tool. We begin to see another side of Ryoko. Both characters began changing DRASTICALLY at the same time. It is evident.

The scene between Ayeka and Tenchi in the cottage is one of my favorites, we all know how it goes. Tenchi is all gentlmanly to a half naked Ayeka, she really does'nt want him to go, but she says nothing. She is startled by Ryo-Ohki, Tenchi comes back in, they embrace, Tenchi starts to go back out, Ayeka tells him to stay. They talk. Cute, nice romantic scene. Lots of opening up on both character's parts. It is here, that Ayeka becomes "involved" with Tenchi. Later, when Ryoko finds out about this bonding, it pisses her off. WHY? Simple. Tenchi is almost the only person that she sees as a friend. She sees Ayeka as a enemy, if not a rival. It upsets her that Ayeka may end up closer to her friend than she is. Ayeka also seems alot less disturbed by Ryoko as well. It helps to share your feelings. You can literally see the difference in her.

In Episode 4, Ryoko takes her relation ship with Tenchi to the same as Ayeka's. "Some thing happened between you and that woman in that cabin. YOU WERE FLIRTING, WERE'NT YOU. I want you to flirt with me too." Quite blatant my friends. She would'nt have pursued Tenchi as a mate, had Ayeka never came. It seems swallow, but it is'nt. She is trying to defend one of her few friends from becoming closer to one of her enemies. The pool scene is a classic. Ryoko shows Tenchi he can get the goods alot faster from her than from Ayeka. MUHAHAHAHAHA!!! It's so damn FUNNY. They were like to dogs in heat fighting over a male. Okay, maybe not that bad.

Ayeka walks in, sees naked Ryoko with half naked in a towel Tenchi.

She is upset. She thinks Tenchi is cheating on her, she does the whole, NNNNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!! thing. And here is a classic case. Ryoko sees everything Ayeka does as a challenge here. Maybe it is a challenge. She taunts, and mocks Ayeka HORRIBLY. She grabs her, and turns them both incorpreal, and half way through a wall. "I have some thing to show you." Geez. Ayeka does'nt react well. Lots of other stuff I can't remember well, then Ayeka begins to walk to Tenchi, obvious that they are all lovy. Ryoko, gets mad, grabs the string on her towel, and off it goes. Ayeka is very modest, that's a quality not seen much anymore. But, that means she is very upset about being exposed in front of Tenchi. She chews Ryoko out for it. Ryoko turns it into some thing to the effect of, "You are ashamed of your body, but I can't blame you. My boobs are bigger!" (that was'nt a quote). Ayeka slaps her. Yeah, if Ryoko wanted to kill her, their would have been energy sabers involved. If Ayeka wanted to kill Ryoko, energy fists would be involved. But neither WANTED to kill. Just beat up. Ayeka calls Ryoko a demon. This make Ryoko mad. Ryoko decides to show her DEMON. She summons the Demon, probably planning to let it beat the unholy crap out of Ayeka, then disban it. And we know the rest.

The scene in the Onsen in Ep 5. Ryoko walks in, AYeka is bathing. Ayeka starts to walk out, but Ryoko coxes her back. Ayeka has calmed down, and is off most of that "I hate you." stuff. But she still.... this says it all "Now, don't think I have forgiven you for the other day." She is refering to the Demon, or the exposing of her body (Ayeka's body), or most likely both. They show a bit of bonding...... until they both get drunk that is. Ryoko spills her feelings out. Ayeka is so drunk she makes lud comments, Ryoko begins to cry. All of this was out of character. But, you can hold this against Ayeka. Not like Ryoko ever did it to her. -_- In all the other episodes, it's Ryoko being insensitive to Ayeka. Though you should'nt hold that against her.

Point, they are both arrogant stuborn people. Neither are backing down, and both have good reasons to. Ryoko was trapped in a cave for 700 years. Your lucky she's sane. Ayeka lost her lover, and probably felt very unsafe after Ryoko attacked Jurai. She has alot of reasons to treat Ryoko like dirt. BUT, by the end of episode 6, they have both dropped the crap. The only thing they fight over is Tenchi after that. If Tenchi WERE to have died, then they would have been really close. They would have leaned on each other's shoulders, so to speak, as they both have had pretty crappy lives, and they just recently lost their love. So yeah. Ryoko does treat Ayeka like crap, and never appologizes for it. THAT'S BECAUSE SHE IS RYOKO. It would be like Vegeta walking up to Goku and telling him how better of a fighter he is, and how he is sorry for giving him such a challenge. VEGETA NO DO THAT. He appologized for nearly killing him, but if he had been brain washed into doing that, he would'nt have. IT'S A PRIDE/ARROGANCE thing. And both Ayeka and Ryoko are guilty of it. And hating either for it is LUDICRIST. Both are arrogant, both are hot tempered, both are possessive, both resort to violence REALLY fast. They are two versions of a very similar character. If Ryoko had Ayeka were switched at birth, AYEKA would have ended up just like Ryoko, and Ryoko would have ended up just like Ayeka. Think about it. If Ayeka had all of Ryoko's experiences instead, and Ryoko had all of Ayeka's.

Anyway, I am done. If you want to add to it, arguee about it, it is your problem.

Next time, I will defend Tenchi. Why? Because I feel like it.

Silverwolf "How do you like my, your foot to my face, technic? NOW TRY, YOUR FIST TO MY BALLS!!!......... I am bleeding, making me the victor." Sorry Silverwolf, but your claim that Ryoko would never have been interested in Tenchi if Ayeka weren't is total BS. Like it or not, it's an established part of canon that Ryoko fell in love with Tenchi while she watched him in her astral form. When during the 15 years or so that she was watching him isn't clear, but that's when she fell for him. NOT after Tenchi & Ayeka were in the cabin.

Also, Ryoko didn't "nearly kill Tenchi in episode 1". She never caused him any injury at all, in fact. Notice that even during the one time she actually did genuinely attack him, when she punched him in the face, she didn't even draw blood. Of course, that blow probably would've broken his nose if he were an ordinary human, but so what? He's not.

The REAL Happy Couple

Actually, no. SHe said she would have liked to PLAY with him, when she was in the caves. "I always hoped, that some day me and Tenchi could play together."

BUT, theoritically, she did fall for him during this time, she just did'nt pursue him as a lover UNTIL Ayeka mussled in, and she feared losing him, then she went crazy over him. The only time she ever did anything that suggested she liked Tenchi in that way before the cabin scene was stick her hand down his pants and embrace them, but that was when she was after the sword.

And I meant that if she had killed him, it would'nt have bothered her that much. She was PLAYING with him, like she wanted to do in the cave. If she accidently hurt him, or worse, she would have felt bad, but she would have gotten over it. HOWEVER, after Episode 4, she would have been highly upset with her self, gone on a binge, gained a few hundred pounds, and nuked Japan and most of eastern Asia.

The Eighties Rocked!!!!
Nothing quite like sitting back, drinking lemonade and rootbeer, and posting on the net, while listening to everykind of rock from Kansas to Metallica.

People some times forget...... life is an endless spiral of disappointment, inequality, and sorrowful miseary, so very much so, that I would rather not live in reality, that I would rather not obide by man's laws and will carve my own fantasies and philosophies from the ruins of a society that I refuse to accept. Post subject: Re: So much hate, children, children. Ryoko and Ayeka's defe

The thing is, there was never any risk of her accidentally killing him. If there's one thing Ryoko knows how to do, it's kill (Kagato made her do so often enough, after all), and as such she'd have a good idea of just how much she can get by with without causing actual damage. Heck, if anything, she'd have been using less force than she was trying to, because with only a single replica gem, she would have far less power at her disposal than what she's used to fighting with. But more important than the amount of energy she put behind each attack, they were all timed so that Tenchi would have plenty of time to dodge.

Also, I don't think that Ryoko would've gotten over killing Tenchi at that point. I think it's clear from the flashback, even if Ryoko doesn't say so directly, that she did fall in love with Tenchi prior to being released from the cave. And if she killed the person that she had fallen in love with, well, as emotionally fragile as Ryoko is, that would've devestated her.

The REAL Happy Couple
