Do your family members taunt you for watching Tenchi?

My mother, Step-Father, and little brother all make fun of me for watching and liking Tenchi. They can't even say Muyo right! When they try to say Muyo it sounds like Mujo. Dose anyone here have simulare problems? "Why don't you wake up you're hurting people?" Goku

I would ask Washu wanna_be, she'll tell you ALL about it..parents can be so inconsiderate. Now me, I guess I'm lucky..my mom started me on Anime!! Well my parents don't really like anime (not that they have ever seen any) but they don't make fun of it, but whenever my mum talks about Anime she calls it "Those badly drawn Japanese cartoons" *rolls eyes* she just donen't understand. A different perspective. My mom is not an issue, but my wife picks on me sometimes, because she thinks Tenchi Muyo is silly (I just think it's funny!). But I also pick on her about those silly soaps she likes to watch!

all of my friends mak fun of my because i watch anime ive tryed to get them into it but its no use as for my family they dont really care

Same here. I've been made fun of by my friends and my parents. My sibilings used to tease me about it, but then I showd them DBZ, and they LOVED it. I've explained anime to my family although they don't understand it...still. -.-;; They don't make *funness* of me or anything though. In fact, my Mom buys me a lot of it. ^^;; And I'm *luckiness* because most of my rl friends have seen at least one anime show they like so they know what I mean. Good God, have I got parents that make fun of me! Here's my sad and pathic story. One day when I was 7 I watched Sailormoon. I did so until I was 11. Then my mom one day decided to watch it with me. She thought it was evil. Therefore I was forbidden to watch sailormoon. That's the same story for all my other anime's as well, except now she also thinks it's perverted. Anyway since I am forbidden to watch anime I have to hide everything! Here is a list of everything I have hidden... -Tenchi manga 1-7 -Tenchi In Love 1 -Tenchi In Love 2 -Tenchi OVA episodes 4-13 -Tenchi TV episodes 1-26 -Tenchi Shin episodes 1-24 -Washu keychain ^^ -Cardcaptors movie -Sailormoon movie -Everything pokemon imaginable (which I'll sell) -Sailormoon manga 1-4 -Cardcaptors manga 1-5 -Tenchi soundtrack -Poke'mon Soundtrack -Sailormoon soundtrack -DBZ episodes I have many more, but I'm probably starting to bore you. As you can see I have alot of hidden stuff. It's hard to explain after you buy something anime where that $20.00 went ^^;;. Anyway I am also not allowed to talk to anyone else that likes anime. It is clear I have broken that rule. Anyway now I hide everything, I can't be myself, and my mother wants to make me her mini-me. I can't stand her anymore. All I want is to be able to watch anime. Anime is a part of what I am and by forbidding it she's also forbidding me to be who I am. It is not fair. So until I'm 18 I get to hide everything from her. My dreams, my anime, myself. Only on the boards can I be my true self, thank you, you guys for being there. I don't know how I could live without you. Whoa. Oh well, since you live in the South, I can understand it. I tend to reverse "taunt" my friends who make fun of me for watching anime. Referring to some American movies that they like (i.e. The Matrix). I throw it back at them for where the origins of those kinds of movies came from. My parents always say Â“hu?Â” whenever I watch anime, this is because apparently all the characters in any anime say Â“hu?Â” a lot.
