09/12/2014: My previous attempt at renaming the directory to foil the spambots did not work. I'm trying now to change the login information for the SQL database. There may be a little bit of downtime but it shouldn't take long.
09/11/2014: I've been having problems with spambots preventing legit users from being able to sign up correctly. I've tried changing the directory from bbs to forums. Hopefully that will stop them and I can remove the retrictions stopping real users from signing up. Sorry if some of your bookmarks have become broken. They can be fixed by replacing bbs with forums in the properties.
*sobs*
Damn you, pesimists of the TM board! May your living bones be filled with sulfur! I'm lamenting my favorite anime as it decends further into the shitter. Though I can only pray that Tenchi will choose someone, it's now obvious that the chances look very grim. A fourth OVA? ive always thought the 3rd OAV wouldnt be the end of it. They will make a 4th OAV at least because they dont want to leave the series unfinished, every director wants to see their vision completed and not left unfinished.

"I'm the greatest, and I can't possibly be beat!- Cassius Clay aka Muhammed Ali"I am become death, the destroyer of worlds"- Robert Oppenheimer

I hope these people aren't influencing Kajishima. This is a good series. He said he wanted Tenchi to choose, that is how it was planned. If those freaking marketing people make him change it i will find their houses and beating the crap out of them.

If Masaki Kajishima ia able to complete his vision it will require much more than just 4 OVA series. The first 3 OVA's will make up only the first third of the Tenchi Muyo epic story. Many more, a total of either 9 or 12 OVA series would be necessary to finish it all. At the rate they are going, I won't live long enough to see them all though.

Uh, what's with the nurse's outfit Washu-chan?

Yes, but he originally planned on this OVA being the one which he decides. Of course there would be more OVAs after that. Im just saying i dont want it to be changed. In the interview i read he said he has had all of Tenchi Muyo planned out since he first thought of it. I dont want marketing to change that.

Yes, you are right justin466dn3. Masaki Kajishima planned the entire story outline at the beginning, before the OVA's were made. He also did not have high hopes for Tenchi Muyo and was quite shocked by it's popularity. He had never set aside time to do additional work on it and that is why it was turned over to others after OVA episode 6. The secret of Tenchi's choice has been kept for 10 years now, and MK surely has no regrets about keeping it for a little longer!^^

Uh, what's with the nurse's outfit Washu-chan?

Now I'm even more pissed off that MK waisted so much time on Tenchi in Tokyo... godsdamnit he better have a great ending for the amount of time he's making us wait!

Actually mr. K didn't have anything to do with Tenchi in Tokyo or Tenchi Universe, that's why they seemed just like dim shadows of the Oavs.

As mjhennessey mentioned, mr. K did not have high hopes for Tenchi Muyo so apperently he stopped making them... for a while.

Ö¿Ö"It can be a long journey to find what your looking for, but it's a hundred times worth the effort when it's finally found"
Edited by: Hyas at: 9/13/02 9:33:38 pm

It wasn't so much that Masaki Kajishima stopped making them as it was him turning control of the "franchise" over to others - most noteably Taro Maki. MK only supervised the production of OVA 2 and had very little or nothing to do with anything after that. If Tenchi Muyo had not become a global phenomenon in 2000, that would still be the status quo.

Uh, what's with the nurse's outfit Washu-chan?
