I'm lamenting my favorite anime as it decends further into the shitter. Though I can only pray that Tenchi will choose someone, it's now obvious that the chances look very grim. A fourth OVA? I certainly hope so.<br><br>I can't decide what I would rather have happen...<br>Tenchi die {{and never have time to express his undying love for Ryoko :) }} or Tenchi no choose at all.<br>Either way, I'm going to be one very pissed off gidget.<br><br>Thank yuuey to all of you optimists who try and be... well... optimists, as well as those who know the reality of Tenchi. (Especially Doc, who's theory is rather interesting...)<br><br>But, just say for a minute that GXP does so-so, and OVA 3 does astoundingly well. Would they make the 4th one? ive always thought the 3rd OAV wouldnt be the end of it. I hope these people aren't influencing Kajishima. This is a good series. He said he wanted Tenchi to choose, that is how it was planned. If those freaking marketing people make him change it i will find their houses and beating the crap out of them. <p></p><i></i> |

If Masaki Kajishima ia able to complete his vision it will require much more than just 4 OVA series. The first 3 OVA's will make up only the first third of the Tenchi Muyo epic story. Many more, a total of either 9 or 12 OVA series would be necessary to finish it all. Yes, but he originally planned on this OVA being the one which he decides. Of course there would be more OVAs after that. Im just saying i dont want it to be changed. In the interview i read he said he has had all of Tenchi Muyo planned out since he first thought of it. I dont want marketing to change that. <p></p><i></i> |

Yes, you are right justin466dn3. Masaki Kajishima planned the entire story outline at the beginning, before the OVA's were made. He also did not have high hopes for Tenchi Muyo and was quite shocked by it's popularity. He had never set aside time to do additional work on it and that is why it was turned over to others after OVA episode 6. Actually mr. K didn't have anything to do with Tenchi in Tokyo or Tenchi Universe, that's why they seemed just like dim shadows of the Oavs.<br><br>As mjhennessey mentioned, mr. It wasn't so much that Masaki Kajishima stopped making them as it was him turning control of the "franchise" over to others - most noteably Taro Maki. MK only supervised the production of OVA 2 and had very little or nothing to do with anything after that.
