The Japanese Tenchi Manga

I read somewhere that the original Japanese Tenchi Manga was like the OVA series 1 and 2, but the storyline also just carried on as well. Will that story be the same for OVA3?? There wasn't a manga for OAV 1+2, but there were film comics. The ones that continue the story after episode six, as though OAV 2 never happened, is the No Need For Tenchi manga that is published by Viz. Illegal javascript event tags or url parameters detected.

The ones that continue the story after episode six, as though OAV 2 never happened, is the No Need For Tenchi manga that is published by Viz. Uhm, didn't Okuda begin his manga series  between OAV 1 & 2? I could be wrong, but that would explain why it starts as if there had been no 2nd OAV (though details from the 2nd OAV do end up being incorporated into the manga as it goes).

The Tenchi manga isn't too great.
