Also maybe the fact that royalty are geneticly manipulated to be powerful migh help. On Jurai royalty are geneticly manipulated because the person with the most Jurain power is next inline for the throne. the person with the second is most is second and so on. Perhaps. But it's also hardly unreasonable that the same power they use for their energy manipulation might also increase their physical strength. That would certainly explain why Tenchi, who's never been through any body strengthening process, is able to take a punch from Ryoko in episode 1 that would've re-arranged a normal human's face (at the very least), without even getting his nose bloodied. And why he was able to get slammed into pillars on Souja hard enough to create craters in them, and only being a bit winded from it. A normal human, of course, would've been nothing but a bloody smear on the aforementioned pillars. Especially when you bear in mind that, despite their appearance, those pillars are not most likely not stone. Given that they seem to be an actual part of Souja's structure, and not merely decorative, they're probably made of some ultra-hard composite that's much stronger than stone. Hell, even if they are purely decorative, this is something that Washu built.
