Sutff I'd like to think was a joke...

"No animals were hurt during the filming..." None of the cute critters were harmed when Ryu-Oh was destroyed? Uh...

"No persons either..." Nobody was killed during the GP battle with the Souja? Uh...

The workings of Washu's computer. Oh boy...

"2=5", or "How old is Ryoko anyway?" Okay, this can't be written off as a joke, but it is still a poor attempt at fixing up the backstory.

I guess some (most) people like the story about the cat in episode 1, but I think it is ridiculous. Ryo-Ohki's feline characteristics don't need explanation any more than Ryoko's.

Some things are better left unexplained...

It seems that there was some revisions since the 101. Some things just contradict with the facts of today. Thought things lke 'the animals where in a different subspace,' is possible since seto's ship also has a subspace in Gxp.

I just think that 101 was sort of a 'quick' answers and hasn't been thoroughly thought through-I think it's the major reason why its not released here.

The TTN seems more solid, but it's also still iffy... Kajishima sort of comes of as a 'make it up as u go' type of story telling - though I have no preoblem with it, but it has a high risk of creating self contradictions and could have some changes to original concepts.
Ö¿Ö"It can be a long journey to find what your looking for, but it's a hundred times worth the effort when it's finally found"

That sure is true. If MK writes without an outline that would explain a lot, why so much information about the Tenchi saga is missing. That helps make the story unpredictable, which is a bonus for comedy, but there is also more potential for a contradiction, like you say Hyas, which could render the story unworkable and make the whole project useless. This may also explain why there seems to be so much difficulty getting OVA series 3 produced.

Though I dream, cry, and get hurt, and reality approaches now, frantically, I can't lose my place in life and my self-worth just to protect myself.

It can be difficult to work without an outline, but if you have the story in your mind, as he does, you really don't need one. Although you would have to keep checking to make sure you didn't contradict yourself...

Galaxia's Kagato PageAnime Garden
Galaxia's Photos

Remeber, everytime you watch Sailor Moon or CardCaptor Sakura dubbed into American English, baby Kagami cries. Oh, I understand the reasons given, I just think they are silly ... bad story-telling.

The backstory does not impress me, I'm sorry. The series works better when it does not lean on it; when the background is impressionistic, a flavoring for the present action. More like OAV 1.

Plot is not the strong point of Tenchi Muyo. Characterization is.

Kajishima sort of comes of as a 'make it up as u go' type of story telling - though I have no preoblem with it, but it has a high risk of creating self contradictions and could have some changes to original concepts.

I have no problems with that, either. The first OAV really played it by ear, and worked very well. But if you do that, any after-the-fact explanations are likely to be worse than the fans' imaginations. Some things are better left unexplained, to the imagination.

...but if you have the story in your mind, as he does, you really don't need one.

I doubt Kajishima has more than a vague idea of where he is going. Something that may seem like a sufficient foundation, until you start nailing down concretes and realize you have no idea how to fit everything together. Or, you find that laying the plot out in sequence doesn't naturally lead where you want it to. Been there.

I just think that 101 was sort of a 'quick' answers and hasn't been thoroughly thought through

I wouldn't be surprised if chunks of it were tongue in cheek, not meant to really be taken seriously. I kind of hope so.

Uh, Jiggly I think Codedog was referring to a single post, not a thread ¬.¬

If that is the case he oughta take a look down in the Do'Hicky Forum, some of those are pretty long too.^^

Though I dream, cry, and get hurt, and reality approaches now, frantically, I can't lose my place in life and my self-worth just to protect myself.

Anime Community Where Luna's body went.
Midnight Lagoon Tenchi Muyo!
