Washu means "Eagle Feather". I always took the symbol to be an eagle. Many times an Eagle is shown fighting a snake. The only way I can think of it being even possible for Mihoshi to free Washu is because of her incredible luck. =P <br><br>It was shown later in the episode that the cube can manipulate the different dimensions in the ship, (Washu bringing Ayeka to the mirror side of the Souja), so Mihoshi must have some how keyed in the exact sequence of turns on her cube to break the seal. <br><br>Given the complexity of a basic rubrick's cube, I'd say that was one incredible feat. She truly is a genius of luck. ^_^<br><br>Hehehe... perversity incarnate... PED says Mihoshi inherited a genius intellect from Washu, but it is entirely sub-conscious "running in the background". Her incredible "luck" is nothing of the sort, but the outward manifestation of these cognitive processes buried under a layer of fluff.
