It is a bootleg set. * Tenchi Universe: Episode 1-26 Complete (3 DVDs) (should have 8 ) * Tenchi in Tokyo: Episode 1-26 Complete (3 DVDs) (should have 8 ) * Tenchi Muyo OVA: Episode 1-13 Complete (2 DVDs) (should have 3-4) * Tenchi Muyo Movie Collection 3 Movies (1 DVD) (should have 3) o 1) Tenchi Muyo in Love o 2) Tenchi Forever o 3) The Daughter of Darkness Region: NTSC ALL (Playable on any DVD player in the World) <--BIG clue Here's a great site to educate yourself on how not to get scammed. http://www.digital.anime.org.uk/piratefaq.html |

How new is your DVD player? Newer ones, say after 2003, don't read all-regions well. Take Bleach, for example. Disk 2 only works on one DVD player in the house. On the others, it stops at episode 13. Try an older DVD player, that might help. Otherwise, you're screwed. |

Wow I appreciate you guys' responsiveness. I had been watching the dvd's on my PS2, and in the Universe series I started to have problems during the swimsuit episode. So I watched them on my dvd player instead (which isn't very old, maybe a year or two old) and didn't have as much trouble there. However, on both my PS2 and DVD player, I could not play OAV disk 2 at all. I'm going to try playing it on my PC dvd player to see if that works. If so, I'll burn a copy of it and if the copy works then I'll just watch the copy and keep the original in storage or something. But somehow I have a feeling I'm SOL |

Your PS2 won't play it. Today I brought a new (well it was a second hand one, but umm same thing) PS2, as my old one decided that it did not want to play anything, game discs, DVDs, anything. Sony use very very very poor disc readers that die quickly, in an evil attempt to make more money by forcing us to buy whole new consoles. The Fiends! I'm guessing your Second OVA disc is just plain faulty. If you can, contact whoever you got it from, and complain to them. As for my DVD player, I have a Multiregion one, so I have no worries about Region. Living in the UK, this is pretty much essential for Anime fans, since Anime is more widely advailable in the US. New DVD Players can't play region 0 you say? Well that is just damn stupid. There Are Official DVDs that are Region 0. Red Vs Blue for example use Region 0, as the guys behind it realise they have fans all over the World, and that people can DL the episodes Online anything. Heck, they even have mockeries of the "FBI Warning"s. If makers are beginning to lock out Region 0, then the World is getting stupider.... (And yes, I know that isn't a real word.) |

It can read all-region dvds, new ones. It's just that it doesn't read it as well. PS2's will NEVER be able to read 0 region DVDs well (take it from experience) but this has dual-language support, right? than the subs are fine in response to kagatoTEG. |

My PS2 was playing them fine up to that particular episode which is...I guess a little over half of the universe series. Then I made the switch to my DVD player. So that should answer your questions about being able to play region 0 on PS2/DVD players. I'll also add that I'm not sure if my dvd player is mult-region or not. Also I have managed to play OAV disk 2 just fine on my PC, so I've made a copy of it which I will test on my DVD player when I get back home. Also, I tried OAV disk 1 (which if you remember was missing an episode), and the missing episode is NOT missing, but for some reason my PS2 and DVD player were both skipping right over it. Very strange. |

Those sound like very poor quality DVDs... Even the Bootlegs I have have Episode/Scene Selects.... Or does it have these, just that they skipped the episode anyway? And I know what a PS2 should, or shouldn't be able to play, I'm just saying, they go bye bye very quickly. I'm guessing the fact your PS2 is not playing some things that you DVD Player can means it is being this annoying process. Those discs probably have a couple stratches or something on them, and the Dying Lenses are more sensitive to such things. However, no matter how poorly designed the PS2, there is something of even poorer design. The Slim Line PS2. You make a Compact Version of a consule then remove a feature from it, making it less flexiable in possible places to place it! Opening at the top? That means it has to go on top of the X-Box, which has a curved top(which is a flaw in the X-Box's design)! It must always go on top due to this stupid act of design! Or on the side, but if you ask me, that is just stupid. Sony! I hope you PS3 flops! Sorry, but I seriously detest those scum. |

glad I could help. Enjoy your dvds! PS2's can't even read the man menus of all-regions, usually. |

I'm a little late but here's my two cents anyway. FX while a bootleg company are generally very good quality. In fact they're the only bootleg I will buy because I've never had problems with their stuff, subs or otherwise. I'm sure they'll have episode select menus, sounds like its just the PS2 being dodgy :/ Discamer: I'm not supporting the buying of bootleg stuff... but when the official DVDs are so expensive, have few, if any, interesting extra features generally have boring boxes and never get licensed in your home country forcing you to pay and arm and a leg imports the prettiness of FX is bound to seduce you once in a while T_T |
