I had a look at this yesterday. That one of Ryoko and Ryo-Ohki is really good quality. When will OVA3 be aired in Japan? Has the date been set?

The man with the gun

----Anime Community----

Is it illegal to make copies of it in countries where it isn't licensed? As long as they become destroyed when it is licensed? Because if it is NOT illegal I would be willing to give copies of it to some board members as long as they don't share it seeing as I am so eager to see it I am going to have it ordered to my house when it comes out in japan. Somehow, maybe since after school gets out my japanese friend could pick it up when he visits there, or something of the like. Because I want to get it as soon as it is out.

BTW, I tihnk it looks better because it is partially computer assisted, PARTIALLY. Of course in 91" and 92" the fastest you could get was a 25Mhz mac or 25Mhz 386, neither I tihnk fast enough to do video, definately not fast enough, especially ocnsidering the budget for when Tenchi was origionally done was limited. Wasn't it? Then in 95" also we were still in low end pentiums and early PPC 604/603e's. Which still weren't all that fast.

::Is praying he will get a PB 3400C/240 from a person on line::

However, back in the early 90's Apple still had a huge performance lead over Intel-based systems and this continued to be quite a substantial different until the middle of the life of the G3...when the Pentium III was released the performance began to slip. And then inverted altogether. But that is a side story to Apple and Quicktime's contribution to multimedia on PCs.

Apple released Quicktime 1.0 on 1991. Yes, a 25MHz (And that was high-end in '92) computer could play a movie-that is a feature that PC's would not be able to do at all until 1994 (Surprising but true). Apple amazed the world with it's multimedia capabilities and just a few years ago it was a engineering miracle! It's something that we really do take for granted and that was first and only available on Macs...of course in the days when RISC was so clearly a superior architecture (And in some ways still is) to CISC.

Ah, well nolstalgia...

Time Line of Quicktime:
www.retiariusenterprises....story.html

A good article by PBS.org's tech guy Cringely that discusses the history of BIOS computing, Microsoft and finally the history of Quicktime at the very end. The amazing thing about Quicktime is that there was nothing like it before, and everything has been like it since. Look at the guts of Real Player or Windows Media Player, and you'll see structural copies of QuickTime. It is very hard to be an original, to be the first, and to still survive a decade later, but Quicktime does all that. And it might even get the last laugh. Apple is rumored to be preparing an MPEG-4 player for Quicktime (the Quicktime file format is already used by MPEG-4), which ought to give the system perpetual legs and a real advantage against more proprietary solutions from Real and Microsoft.
