Thats the main video on my youtube page, I always think its funny how parents and politicians ridicule cartoons or shows for being "too childish and not worth the time"
Toonami helped me mature as a human being, and proved everyone of those people wrong, i mean come on, they were the only program on tv that said You control your destiny, be what you wanna be, ask questions, etc i know i sure as hell didnt hear that from anyone in real life
i also still have it on an old VHS tape from when i would tape Outlaw Star

Oh wow, Dreams. Just thinking about that one sends chills down my spin - that's the one that stuck in my memory, and I was always happy to find it on youtube once again.

Wow, very well put. I think you should send that to the people in charge of Cartoon Network. Perhaps none of the fans who have complained have been articulate enough in their messages to bring back Toonami.

There are indeed many, many morals that animations teach. Aside from providing escapism, I think they really aid the development of creativity in teenagers. A seed planted in the mind. Toonami really wanted to inspire and influence the audience, and I think this should be commended highly. These shows often gave you a sense of self-worth, and belief that you could do anything. The same certainly cannot be said for the noxious stream of vacuous drivel they force down audience's throats today. Even if these new shows do contain a message, they are conveyed in the most uninspiring and blatant way. Even the beauty and quality of the drawings has declined - these new shows might not touch the hearts of those aspiring artists or animators out there. Those that complain of violence should take a look at the world around them; not everything is lovey dovey, and a bit of realism should be given now and again - I think it was Android 16 said "it is not a sin to fight for the right cause."

And I must admit - Tenchi even helped develop my interest in girls!

I still remember rushing home from school to watch Toonami. Tenchi, Gundam Wing, DBZ, Sailor Moon, Ronin Warriors, Outlaw Star. Those were the days. And even though Toonami censored some things out of the anime series, I think that was part of the charm of translated anime back then. I remember looking up a list of edits and cuts from the series my friends and I were fans of, and then I would show it to them and we would all giggle about knowing things that they didn't want us to know.

And like you said, a lot of series had positive messages. My friends and I would pretend to be characters from our favorite anime series sometimes and it was a lot of fun and helped us be creative.

I use to tape everything back then, i taped the first 2 OVA's and Tenchi Universe, and i had to have watched them at least 5 times, so much that the tape was wearing out, lol

Alot of anime purists will put down Toonami for censorship when in reality if they hadnt put it on there at all, an entire generation of people (from elementary to College even, including themselves) wouldnt have even known it existed, most people saw there first anime on Toonami, some peoples favorite anime was seen on Toonami (Tenchi Muyo, saw it july 3rd 2000), when 5 came around i dropped whatever i was doing ran to my room, and turned on Tenchi, and didnt leave until it was over (back when it first aired they would show 2 episodes at a time, so from 5 to 6 i was in the masaki house, lol)

Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime) aided to the awesome by doing the narration for those oh-so-awesome promos.

After all thats happened, i think the only way to have any kind of decent closure would be to get the original 3 back together, as far off or impossible as that might sound, that would probobly be the closest thing to a good series for everybody, as seperatley, they all seem to miss something for every fan, yet OVA1 is considered by all the pinnacle and perfection
