GXP does indeed involve different characters (It's about an accident prone boy called Seina, relative of Tenchi, joining the Galaxy Police), but then you could technically say that Tenchi Universe and Tenchi In Tokyo - and Pretty Sammy - also had different characters. They merely shared the same appearances as their OVA counterparts. Their motives and personalities were rather different.<br><br>OVA 2/3 is just another way that one might refer to "seasons" of a particular show, e.g. Buffy season 4 or somethin' (just as an example). Okay I am not that new to the tenchi series but I am really confused. So the first ones to come out are the OVA series right? I own that on DVD. Then came the Tenchi Universe TV series right? I also ordered that. Then Tenchi in Tokyo right? And somewhere in those the 3 tenchi movies and the pretty Sammy garbage. <br><br>So I thought the Tenchi forever(3) movie was the last thing released about Tenchi right? I haven't seen it yet. I am expecting it in the mail soon. What's this "GXP" thing? Is it even the same characters? This is really confusing me. Is it new or old? Could someone give me the basic release date or all the stuff? Just in genereal like what years the original stuff came out (as a series). Also what do people mean by OVA 2 and 3? OK... The 13 episodes of "Tenchi Muyo" are OAV 1 and 2. OAV is new and is still being released in Japan at the moment. GXP is a new series and it has different main characters but in some episodes the normal Tenchi characters make appearances, it takes place at the same time as the characters on Muyo go into space. I think GXP is being released still, I'm not sure though. Yes, OVA 1 is the first 6 episodes and a special (episode 7, this is why 7 is much longer than most episodes) and OVA 2 is 7 to 13. OVA 3 is still being released in Japan. GXP as has been said has different character, but it fits into the OVA continuity.<br><br>Tenchi Universe is a new continuity and in no way related to the OVA (other than the fact the character share names and similar personalities). TU is the TU series followed by Tenchi Muyo in Love, and finished by Tenchi Forever (AKA Tenchi Muyo in Love 2). Hey thanks for clearing some of that up... the OVA series is not over? It's been a really long time since 1 and 2 were released right? So what's this OVA 3 then? I thought the end of "Here Comes Jurai Part 2" was the end of the OVA tenchi series. I bought and saw those videos like 5 years ago and it's still not done? Nothing came out between those time periods? <p></p><i></i>

Wow, the original OVA first came out in 1992 and 1993 and now it's 2004. It took that long just to make and release the rest. I would imagine the animation is quite different now. So the story leaves off right where OAV 2 ended right? Where Ayeka's dad said he wouldn't give up so easily or something. <br><br>I wonder how many more years will it take before we see an official release in the USA. <p></p><i></i>
