Back in the year 2000 i was in 3rd or 4th grade (idr for sure it doesnt matter), and being a young kid i LOVED (and still love) cartoons, all the american cartoon classics were among my favorites, but then this block called Toonami started airing, and while i didnt know how these cartoons were different, i was instantly attracted to them, spiky hair, epic battles,Giant Mech Robots, tender moments, surely this Toonami was a work of the Gods

So every day since i first saw it, from 4 to 6, i was glued to the TV watching the adventures of Goku and Gohan, the Big O, Outlaw Star and more, everyday after school bam i was there

Then one day (i remember it clearly as i still have all my old Toonami Tapes, lol) i came home from shopping with my Gma, threw my coat down and awaited the ending to the Vegeta/Goku battle, when suddenly i see the figure of an old man walking up a stone path, the japanese music in the background, then the epic voice of Peter Cullen come on and talk of a boy training in a shinto shrine (i wasnt instantly grasped as it kinda reminded me of something that would prolly be like Ruroni Kenshin or Something) i dont pay much mind...

THEN

I see the Tench-Ken which looks and sounds like a light saber being pulled out of this tree....."WOH that was freakin sweet", wait woh wait a minute, living space ships? Alien Princesses, Space Pirates ok NOW i'm interested

All this lead up my eyes havent moved away (oh and for the record, i had never heard and or seen anything that resembled a "Harem" situation at this point) "and they all have the hots for him" Wait what? they all live with him, woh this is gonna be so sweet (oh and the minute i saw Ryoko and Washu i was like wow 0_0 guess its the hair that attracted me to em) anywho

More build-up, Shows Nagi and Ken-Ohki shooting ships, "Ancient Demons".... wth DEMONS TOO! there really covering there bases here, then....Bath time?! (it almost felt as if Sasami was talking to me, lol)

and when i heard July 3rd, i was like.....YES, THATS NEXT MONDAY, by the time it was over i was so Blown away just by the preview i didnt even bother with DBZ (luckily i set the recorder on my Sony VHS Recorder early(which i still have to this day) and rewound it and played it at least 5 more times) i was so anxious for that show, i dont think i've ever been that Excited for anything, let alone a show, before or since, Tenchi was my first "Real" anime, and at that point monday couldnt come fast enough

When it finally came around to watch the show, i couldnt even describe it, and after "Ryoko Resurrected" i was forever a Tenchi Fan

thats my story

Well, yours is more interesting than mine. I was an occasional fan watching it on TV - in particular, I remember OVA episode 4 and that one STM episode with the thread thing. I never really got into the show, though - least I don't thing.

Then, four or so years ago, I'm at camp - right? And a kid who I'd ended up talking to about anime mentioned Tenchi Muyo! And I'm like "OH! I KNOW THIS SHOW!" So I go to Hollywood Video and rent the first movie, fall in love, and then rent the OVAs at a local store now no longer around.

I then struggled to collect the series in physical media, going to such lengths as to go to Chinatown. There, I picked up Tenchi Universe and Tenchi in Tokyo. I also ended up picking up some of the manga. At this point, I contacted Mrs. Burchard about possible autographs - she gave a mail address, but my mom decided a better idea would be to meet her in person. Which we ended up doing. Sweet, sweet woman, truly - once I finished my collection, I ended up meeting her again.

I came here for downloadable episodes, and stayed for a wonderful community. Even though the Tenchi in the Board may not be quite as strong as it once was, this is a great place to be - hence why I stuck around.

HERES TO TENCHI,

California has the main industry, not the dubbing. Though there IS BangZoom, a majority of studios are located in Canada (Ocean and Blue Water studios come to mind). There are also a few in New York including 4Kids, and FUNi is in Texas.

Back in the day, around 1997, I was really only into Pokemon. But I was interested in this thing called "anime." A friend I had met online was showing me some various anime stuff, and they showed me this wallpaper.


I really liked it. I took an immediate liking to the design of the spikey haired girl fighting with the purple haired girl. I asked my friend what series the wallpaper was from and she told me, so I looked up some information about it and it sounded really awesome. Eventually I was able to find a site that streamed some episodes of Tenchi Universe. Which was a pain to watch on dial up, but I attempted to watch 5 episodes anyway. And well, the rest is history. The show came to Toonami a few years later and I was thrilled.

Nice, i remember having dial-up years ago, but for tenchi i would have waited 3 hours just to glimpse Ryoko and Tenchi for half an hour

Tenchi is just one of those special anime where you really dont even have to watch an episode just see the characters and know its gonna be amazing

well its still my favorite, next to slayers.
I never tire of Ryoko's antics and watch her and Ayeka fight.

The first one I ever saw was episode 6 of the original OVA series on Toonami and I was instantly hooked. Once it was pulled off the air I completely forgot about it. Only glimpses in my memories...until earlier this year. I had once again been reunited with my all time favorite show and had once again fallen in love with it.

I'm not a fan. That's just a title other people use on me.

I first got into Tenchi pretty much when Toonami first started previewing it. Back then I was already watching Toonami everyday for Dragonball Z, and I remember Toonami really building Tenchi up before it premiered. I figured I would give it a shot.

After the first episode of Muyo I was completely hooked. I saw every episode of Muyo, Universe, and Tokyo. The only one I ever missed was episode 6 of Muyo. Which was like torture to me because at the time that seemed like the peak of the excitement in the series.

I was in love with the show, my former routine of watching DBZ religiously everyday turned into watching DBZ everyday...but WAITING for Tenchi to come on. It took over completely as my favorite show.

I'd never been so attached to fictional characters before. And with Ryoko being my favorite character, it was amazing when I found out me and her have the same birthday (August .

Like a lot of you, I forgot about it as I got older. But about a month ago I was really bored at school and got into watching a lot of old cartoons on youtube when I was younger. And out of nowhere I was like "OH MY GOD I WONDER IF TENCHI IS ON HERE!"

I fell in love with the show again and I've watched almost everyday since.

Pretty much the same as Nickoko, I was all DBZ until I saw the first episode of the original OVA, which is an awesome episode, and then I watched till like episode 6. I then forgot about it and randomly remembered it earlier this year and started watching all of them again. I've gotten through the OVAs 1-3 and Universe but I haven't seen the movies nor Tokyo mainly because I really just like the OVAs the best and I dunno if tenchi in tokyo is worth watching.

Only bit about the OVAs I haven't read or watched yet is that 101 questions book because I can't seem to find a translation for it anywhere. There needs to be more OVA continuation and less re-bootage going on though xP
