I'm getting tmil1 as we speak, all 3 movies are set in the TU storyline right?

also thanks for the link, too bad aloooot of the more interesting stuff [ mainly OVA3] isn't covered in that though. I still don't know what's the deal with the obscure flashbacks to Mihoshi all wired up to something during her brother's scene.

Well it's not that I didn't like OVA 3, but it definitely could have been alot better if 70% of content wasn't being pulled out of nowhere with no further explanation. It's a terrible rushjob but not to the point where it can't be fixed by being expanded somehow.
The main reason I like tenchi is cause of the characters though, so I don't know how GXP will be for me, especially considering the review's I've read.

Youtubing TiT is what I was going to do anyways, I usually stream the 1st 5 episodes of a series then decide. Thanks for the links as well it does get annoying seeing ridiculously priced merchandise that is as old as Tenchi or DB on the more popular websites.

Seeing these (re)release dates being so close gives me hope of an OVA 4 or something along the lines of a new Tenchi

but yeah man, 100+ dollars for just the first season of DB is when you know you're getting cheated. Although it may be arguably worth it depending on how much you like dragon ball

Anyways, I'm going to be hitting up the Mihoshi special [ Which I apparently missed in my first watch through of the ryo-ohki series] and the 3 movies. Then I'll start TinT, so I'll probably have a pretty good idea somewhere by the end of this weekend or next weekend of what I think of it. I mean what I really hate is changing a good character, which is why I didn't like TU so much. I thought Ryoko's story was significantly better in Ryo-Ohki, with that excellent first episode where Tenchi frees her from the prison. Everyone's story just made more sense in the OVA to me I guess.

I have heard of STK and Pretty Sammy and Dual! but I don't know, I don't have the same motivation because it's a whole new series of characters that I'm not familiar with and I'm not big on watching multiple series at once. In fact I don't watch much TV / shows at all so I roll pretty slowly. If it's as good as you say it couldn't hurt to try though.

I also don't think that just because the Chousin arc is done that everything is sealed. They could easily wrap up the show with a more satisfying handful of conclusive episodes or keep it going but hey that's all up to the guys upstairs and how much money it'll make them. I'm not sure I would want a 30 year old tenchi just yet though, he's still young in OVA 3 and he doesn't really know what he's doing which is what makes it interesting. I have a feeling that if they make a series where he's older then he'd be more in control of his power and this would just turn into a pretty stereotypical show.

I finished TMiL1 last night, I thought it was pretty cool although it sort of goes against the logic where one little thing in the past can change alot in the future. Apart from some things that I didn't really see an explanation for [ like how achika got away from kain at the very end] it was pretty easy to fit the pieces together and form my own conclusion on it.

I'm gonna start tenchi forever soon, probably after my exams though.

About tenchi in tokyo, I tried starting it but I couldn't get into it. I might give it another go later on
