How did you become a Tenchi fan?

Tenchi in Tokyo is what made me a Tenchi fan.I was watching the show back when it was on Cartoon Networks Toonami block back in 2000-2001(I was 13 at the time, I feel old).
I saw the episode "Play date" in which Sasami met and befriended Yugi. Something about this series touched me. I was seeing a cartoon that had a villain(Yugi)who had a sad past, and I laughed at how the girls were always bugging poor Tenchi. Then I saw the last episode in which Tenchi had the gem sword, and I watched the episode thinking that he was going to use it to kill Yugi. But when I saw that Tenchi spared Yugi's life and said that Yugi could live with him and the rest of the girls, I was very moved by this scene and Tenchi became my favorite Tenchi Muyo character(and I also became a fan of the Tenchi X Yugi pairing). At that time I had never seen a anime where the hero let the villain live, so Tenchi letting Yugi live with him and the girls made a big inpact on me.
I then started watching the OVAs and Tenchi Universe, and I was hooked on Tenchi.
But eventually Toonami stoped showing Tenchi and in time I forget Tenchi and moved on to other things like Buffy and Angel.
In 2008 I got a computer and I got this idea in my head to look up some Tenchi fanfiction. At the time I was looking for any Tenchi and Yugi fanfics(which sadly there really aren't any)that would continue Tenchi in Tokyo's story and show what Yugi would be like once she woke up from her sleep. I eventually started reading OVA and TU fanfics as well and all my old feelings towards Tenchi started to come back, I was hooked on Tenchi again and I went and bought the Tenchi Universe boxset, and the Tenchi in Tokyo boxset, and I also bought the movies as well, the only thing that my Tenchi collection is missing is OVAs1-2(which are really hard to find).
So I became a Tenchi fan again and the rest is history.

I've been a Tenchi fan for going on ten years now.. I feel like I caught a bit of episode 6 of the OVA and was slightly intrigued, but I can't remember so well. The thing I do remember is watching OVA episode 7 and pretty much falling in love. And that was the start of so much~ I kept watching, followed Universe and In Tokyo faithfully as they aired, and was a total Tenchi fangirl. Who was really surprised to see Ryoko topless and cursing when she bought a Tenchi VHS! I was 10, okay? XD

I can't remember when Toonami stopped airing Tenchi... But I know I watched the reruns and never got tired of it. <3 OVA1+2 are my favorites, followed by Universe.. Tenchi In Tokyo is..meh. I loved it back in the day, and don't completely hate it, but the art style is a huge turn off, not to mention I'm not a fan of the way the girls met Tenchi, or that dumb Ryo-Ohki mecha.. tl;dr: Weakest Tenchi series, for me. ..That is until I saw OVA3. Which was actually last night. Ouch. D:

..And reconnecting to Tenchi, I'm finding out so many things I didn't know.. Like that Nobuyuki discussion a page back! It all makes my brain hurt. xAx

I became a fan when I stumbled upon some Tenchi Muyo in a Blockbuster. I took it home and watched it and enjoyed it. It was like in 2000 or so. Then it came on Toonami and I was hooked from then on.
