SPK, just watch it in Japanese if the new voice bugs you that much. I've spoken to Petrea; she's not coming back. Not that her voice would have fixed OVA 3 in any way, it would've improved it at elast.

The kid also said something about writers, so it wasn't just about Petrea's voice being gone. The fact that that was the absolute least of the problems was utterly sad.

I liked the OVA 3, but it was no my favorite. It lost all the orignal feelings of the OVA 1 &2.
I think it was all the new pernament character. Forget her name, but as we can see throughout entertainment history: new characters usually kills the show. It wasn't just her... it's because Tenchi became part of the "new" wave of anime. You know, the too much use of 3rd graphics and voices that sound like the breathed in AN ENTIRE TANK OF HELIUM! NO ONE TALKS LIKE THAT! GET A REAL FREAKIN' JOB YOU FREAKIN' SOB HELIUM DRUGGY... *coughs*
Anyways... Tenchi should've been like Hellsing. Not gory and Gothic, but stay away from the high pitch voices that make my ears bleed and the too much use of 3rd graphics. Hellsing used some pc in the rights times, but it was like the OVA 3 all they used were graphics and didn't put a whole lot effort.

Though I've already stated I'm not into polygamy, the fact that it's a harem in itself is not what I'm criticizing. What I'm criticizing is the fact that Kajishima's been so focused on expanding and enforcing the harem that he's lost all else about what this show is supposed to be.

I agree that the harem could work. Matter of fact, without Sakuya being involved in Shin, I wouldn't see any scenario where it would clearly not. But the problem is, MK's forcing it through so much he doesn't even seem to care about the essence of the show anymore.

Before OVA 3 - or, as I like to call it now that I've supposedly forgotten its existence by taking Paintedawg's drink, the Unidentified Flying Overboard Video Avalanche (UFOVA) - the show had so much substance, in part because it was so much easier to follow through, and it truly felt like it was all a matter of a mutual love and care between Tenchi and the girls that amounted for so much him choosing one "true love" out of that set was out of the question. The UFOVA, unfortunately, lost out on all that, to the point where the harem just felt like a forced concept, as it was the only thing that anybody could watch the UFOVA and truly understand was going on in any of this.

i agree with that too.

its almost like your watching a completely different show in that sense.
i felt that 'the harem' theme and all the characters from the extended family
were brought into focus far more than the original cast (who were pushed in to the background).
with so much from the 1,2 OVAs left unfinished i really dono what Kaji was thinking.
it's like it was rushed or something.

Worse, kid. It's like he was trying to find a way to keep his facts straight yet completely retcon himself at the same time, and while he was thinking about it, the best he could come up with was "throw in some new gals at an alarming rate."

God. i bought gxp from the $1.95 bin - and sentit right back there.. even TIT wasn't there. what? did i miss some ass chewings of my favotite charectors and some glorifications of new people i didn't miss the first time around...yeah, nevertheless, i got my $1.95. and ryoko is itill my hero.

well, the reason there is no tm4...because there is a GOD. amd he doesen't want us to suffer just to satisfiy a single man's vaniity who can't get laid on his own. that's how the series is going. grow some dam weebles and hire decent writers! that's my take on it. oh, and artists. they made everyone looked like packrats i am trying to kill in oav3. seriously. any tricks on how to keep the little bastards away from my house are appriciated.

thank GOD there is no oav4. after all I've been through, tha'ts a small consolation.

You know, even though OAV3 sucked so bad, i'd like to think that it was MK's way of getting back at all the girls that dissed him in high school, and if we have to pay to see it, so be it! get over it! chicks digg uber-nerds with no talent! forget about it! and all the characters created with another writer....they are gone, baby! hundreds of wives for everybody! except people with a personality! then FU! oh, I'm sory. i've seem to have stolen the plot for OAV4....bad ann, bad...guess i'm the only person not to have to sleep with tenchi...good to be the bad guy, some times!
