Who are your favorite manga characters?

Mine would be Hiwa Takahashi:

She's a really nice person and if Tenchi were destined for a "normal" girl, I thought her introduction was executed much better than Sakuya in TinT. Unfortunately, she was a bit of a one-shot character and I thought she would have made an excellent addition to the cast.

Second Place would go to Minagi:

She sweet, she's a good friend to Sasami. I could actually see her end up as a wife to Tenchi. It's strange.

Minagi is like if Zero were the totally dominant persona in Ryoko, IMO; I like her has a character. Fun to watch, even if just a Ryoko clone. How she turns around just from amnesia is pretty cool.

I never really thought about it. Both came out about the same time (Minagi was in the first manga) and the first manga was released about mid-1993 IIRC while Zero was in the OAV 1994-ish.

Maybe the one inspired the other, good catch:)

I kinda wish Minagi were the one in OVA 2 rather than Zero, but how would Dr. Clay figure in there... ? As far as villains go, Yakage was interesting; but Clay worked better.

I gotta wonder that...

Yakage was one of those odd villains. Not a bad guy (not evil) but not good either (attacking innocents to prove his sword) - he was very neutral in that way.

So he was a scientist in the way Kagato was a scientist. Kagato seemed more evil but his background, he was just being a scientist too using Ryoko as a tool (letting her do what she wanted in her offtime) looking for the answers of the universe.

Clay, otoh, was more spiteful and evil.

i thought Gohgei was a pretty cool character.
a mild mannered monk mostly but when angered he
transforms into this nutball!
so ill say him.

I liked Asahi! Especially when she was allergic to guys:D

She should have stayed allergic to that dirty old monk Gohgei! It's obvious he didn't do a vow of celibacy, but probably a vow of poverty. He gotta learn it's a material world and Asahi likes her man to have some cash>:) Asahi needs some of Tenchi>:D (A really cool sister wife to have for Aeka - her friend)

Dude, she should have replaced Zero. Dr. Clay could've collected Ryoko's DNA from Kagato for some favors or summat.

Who was Hiwa again? An old childhood friend of Tenchi's was it?
