If AIC was looking to invest money in the making of a new series, what would you pay to see happen? You may choose up to your 4 preferred options, since some people would pay for several different things.

A new movie, and a continuation of Tenchi Universe. Might seem strange to just up and continue it so much later, but who cares?

I think the Tenchi Universe storyline was concluded with the movie Tenchi Muyo in Love 2 (Tenchi Forever) so I doubt I'd ever get to see any more of that. Another movie could be based on any of the remaining material so I'd probably like to see that the most ... just to see what the writers could come up with ... surprise me! ^_^

Actually, i liked the oav's, but i've been put off a bit by them...i've said it before (perhaps on another board) and i'll say it again - it's like when stephen king gives you 25 pages of exposition on a character and then kills them in one sentence in the next chapter....i think i've been cheated....i had to read all those pop culture references and the lyrics to the Ramones - every -single -freaking - song...and i like the ramones....except when they are shoved down - my - freaking -throat. Yeah. I like the Who......I think i'll start every paragraph with a quote by them because i'm not smart enough to think of something origional. i'll just throw as many hot chicks into the mix and make it a stip show! who needs charater development or plots! well, even a polygamist show does, sorry mk. even those shows care about plots and stuff. nice try pal.

OAV 3 was a bit disappointing for me as well. All of the relevant plot material concerning Tenchi and Washu and the other choushins was all crammed into one episode while the rest seemed like an expanded version of the Night at the Carnival episode. It's never a bad thing to have some filler fun in a series, but all save one episode is a bit much. I've even had this strange intuition that given all the fan discourse over the intervening years between OAV2 and OAV3 that Mr. K wrote OAV3 just to spite the fans and prove them all wrong. That's just my speculation of course. ^_^;;

I wouldn't be against an OAV 4 but it would probably have to do a lot of backtracking to fill in all of the missing plot and subplot elements. The Karin novels did this quite well, so it could certainly be done with Tenchi Muyo too. Any crafty writer volunteers out there?

Assuming Mr. K wouldn't do a rewrite of OAV3, who would be a good choice to assume the task? A personal opinion from me would be Shouji Gatou who wrote Full Metal Panic. He seemed to have a good balance of action, comedy, and romance, all of which should be included in Tenchi Muyo.

Hmm... I'd like Hasegawa. I thought said person did all right with his/her novels.

Well considering were probobly never going to see a Rewrite of OVA3 (sadly), its a lot more likely that a new movie or spin-off is in the future

A spinoff, or maybe a mini series about Universe Ryoko's pirating days before she fell to Earth.

That seems to be a re-occuring theme, at least one thats been brought up by like 3 people now, at this point i'm just hungry for more, lol

Ooh, what if there were stories of Ryoko under Kagato's control as a space pirate that were animated rather than in dojins we'd never get? I 'd watch that!

I think it would be cool if they had a spinoff that had some crossover character cameos in it (like with TiT, and Mr. Fujisawa from El-Hazard)
