Kajishima-sensei is still producing TM!R doujinshi for Comiket. He's doing the stuff he likes -- slice of life at the Tenchi residence or with one of the Tenchi gang. He's also still writing the GXP novels. And of course, Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari just came out in Japan on Pay-Per-View.

There's a lot of doujin. However, many of them are dirty and (in general) unless they have backstory just seem to add to the harem idea that no one likes.

I think I'd like more backstories, threats, camaraderie and clear indications of friendship from Tenchi towards his girls.

About threats - I thought Kagato was a great villain, and I think it'd be cool for there to be an even bigger threat. You kinda had that with Kain but Tenchi didn't fight him. I think one thing that's kinda played on my mind is the lack of showdowns. The fights you see tend to be the cliché of two swords crossing dramatically, followed by one of the combatants falling. I thought the scene where Katsuhito and Tenchi kick all the Jurai guard's asses was great in Universe!

As I remember someone somewhere saying - the designs behind the Tenchi characters are among the best I've ever seen; so many stories could be portrrayed. There could have been hundreds of OVA episodes.

There still is that possibility, the OVA MAIN idea was "tenchi and the choushin goddesses" but Universe proved that there is more to Tenchi then that, WAY WAY WAY, more, and even the OVA continuity itself, there are so many untold backstories its unbelievable, Each of the girls is over 100 years old, not to mention Ryoko breaking 5000, and Washu 20,000, folks thats alot of time, we've only seen what has happened 2 years with Tenchi in the picture, you could easily do an OVA for each one, personally i'd like to see one with Washu the goddess and what happened between her and the Bioroids and how Tsunami saves her, the point is, alot more can be told in the anime format

as for battles/showdowns, somebody said in a post somewhere, about how predictable OVA4 would be, as Tenchi and eveyone is retarded over powered and basically god, "who ccould top that?" you could always throw a spin on that, what if someone took his power, UH OH THATS UNHEARD OF, people act like nothing can fall out of what we've already seen, wheres the imagination?

Exactly, but then if Tenchi died we would get stiffs like Hotsuma coming around and trying to steal the girls, and honestly Hotsuma pissed me off more then Noike did, nobody gets Ryoko but Tenchi

Thats not the point, lol the point is "there was somebody else" as alien as the subject may seem, it makes for a good plot, even though i hated it, lol
