Hi everyone, this has been known for awhile but I figured I should post it here. Geneon Japan has just released blu-rays of the Tenchi movies - but, there's two catches. One, it has both the dub track and english subs on it! Two, the price for each movie is $90. Dear LORD, that puts the dragonboxes to shame. If you have some extra cash, you can get it from . Also, it's rumored they'll put out the OVAs in similar fashion. |

I've heard some other rumors too, but they are so speculative as far as I'm concerned that I'm going to wait and see what pans out. |

I've spen't over $200 dollars over the past year getting them all on DVD. The hell with that! |

Thats actually kind of a Rip, because also on Yesasia you can buy the movies seperatly on blu-ray for 60 to 70 bucks, which means all together in the "collection" 250 USD, seperatly (including shipping) 200 USD, hmm i think i know what the better deal is |

Yes, yes it is. I recall seeing a comparison between the DVDs upscaled and the blu-ray, but I don't know where I did. Big difference, mainly bitrate. |

Yes its very different quality wise, idr exactly where i saw it but they did 3 or 4 30 second clips from MnE, showing comparisons, and even though its a steep price, i'd pay 60 bucks for its quality |

i mean in anther few years, something else will come out and make bluray obsolete, and even after that the whole rotten business will go on and on. |

Well yea but DVD has been out for a good 10 years (probobly more) and is still the popular medium, hell there are TV's being made now that are HD Tube tv's that are slim but still using the old Tube mechanics, only now in the last couple of years has blu-ray been picking up (with the fall of HD DVD's), and the way its going its probobly going to be a decade or longer before theres another new medium that wont break the bank but is still extremely high quality, so idk about you but 10 years is a long time, and i'm getting a PS3 in a couple of months, saving up for an LED tv, so when i decide to get those Blu-ray Tenchi Movies, i'm going to Enjoy them to their full potential |
