Here is my opinion on the site. I like it a lot but I think it is cluttered with very many things that don't really bring people in. I also think the forum is most important part of site.

Here are specifics:
==Web Site==
The MUSIC is beyond annoying. I type in noneedfortenchi, and I rush off to forums ASAP before loud music starts. I don't even bother exploring because of that. It is like bad thing from old 1990s websites. (Geocities?). Even now, as I open webpage for critique, the music is giving me conniption fits. (I turned it off).

Second thing I have to criticize: amount of links. Way too many. I happen to think the forum is the lifeblood of this site but it gets lost with links to many characters and features of site. For instance, there is where there is nothing. Why even post that? But it is more than that - instead of having 5 main links, there are dozens. Tenchi Survivor 1-5, all "Coming soon". Erase this. Family Tree, they can look up. FAQ - not even working. Cowboy Bebop? Who comes here for that? Sailor Moon - Coming soon.

All these indivual character links should be under generic "Characters". Not by name to clutter up page. Character profiles are okay in early 2000s, but now with wikipedia, I am not sure this is worth the effort. Image galleries, yes. But profiles? I don't think so.

Chatroom - coming soon. Links - coming soon. Many like that. Kill all "coming soon" links.

==Forum==

Since this summer, we have now Dagon, Oyasumi, and Akawoa as regular posters here. There is some life blood. Let's build something and not squander it.

I think forum itself is cluttered. There should be maybe 4 main forums with 12 subforums in them.

Look at dead subforums and delete them:
-for example, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) has 90% questions from 2001 about website. From OLD WEBSITE!! It not even applicable. Only 3 new posts. This subforum can disappear. Questions for Neelick is better for this.
-Tenchiboard hall of fame. Both dead and example of subforum that is more like something that should be a single thread.
-Perfect Girl For Tenchi - like above. Dead and more like thread topic.

Go down line. Any subforum that not get response this year, consider for deletion or merging.

Also, instead of making multiple subforms for "nothing but anime", consider making just one forum "General Anime". Most these subforums have only single digit amount of topics and old posts.

"Genre Specific Anime Forums (Anime not spotlighted)" can be done same thing with.

I think we can clean up very nice and maybe get more excited members in here. Many Tenchi forums die the last 36 months. Many of them try to branch out into everything and still not work. I think we should become more Tenchi focused and get Tenchi fans because fans of other things go to places catering specific to them anyway.

I agree with what Jibri has posted. This forum is called Tenchiboard for a reason. Why don't we focus on that? All the other animes are great but I'm sure they have plenty of sites devoted to their fandom and it would behoove us to focus on providing Tenchi-centered fun, entertainment, and conversation for Tenchi fans.

Yes, and the midi files have got to go. Please?

I never cared for the Music to be honest, and i completely agree with Jibril, she knows what to do with this, the forum is the lifeblood of this site, but you can't tell that from just being on the homepage, it seems extremely outdated, which takes away from whats important. Obviously there are more devoted Tenchi fans out there, steer them towards us and not away, lol

General anime forum would definitely be a step up. I don't think most of our spotlights are as popular anymore.

I do disagree about the midi's though - I think they should still be available as an option, but definitely turned off at default. Jib's right, it can turn off a lot of people, BUT they're also mildly entertaining.

Also, we have other themes - but they're boring default ones with no banners & no quick reply.

I really hate how much I get logged out of this site. >< I type up a post and hit submit, only to lose the post because I get logged out when I submit it. When I'm finally able to make a post, if I need to edit it, I have trouble because I often get logged out directly after I make a post. So I have to go, log back in, and I get transfered back to index. That's fine. I click on "General Tenchi" and I get logged out again. So I sign in again, get to General Tenchi alright, get to the topic, click...and get logged out. >< So it may take me five or six minutes to do one simple edit or longer for one post. It wasn't so bad at first, but it's gotten really horrible recently. Is anyone else having this problem? I don't think it's an issue with my cookies, because I never have this problem on other websites. I don't know what could be causing it.

If it is something that other people are experiencing, can something be done about it, or is it just a problem with the phpBB boards?

Any thoughts to reducing subforums yet from powers that be?
