Hello there! As you can see I'm new here (short-time lurker) but I thought rather than making up an "IM NEW LOLOLO" thread I thought I'd mix it in with something a little more interesting.

Undoubtedly some of you will have already seen this (AstroNerdBoy I'm looking at you), but I found this site with some interesting scans of "Tenchi Muyo! Ryoohki! Gakken Mook Pt 2" - about Tenchi's house!

Wouldn't it be great to build a house like this?

Second, i always thought it would be cool to live in the masaki house, or even a copy of it, as for translating, i dont know too many people who would take the job, and or are good enough to translate it correctly, although it would be mighty beasty to not have to learn Japanese, lol

I have scans of a few doujins and novels, unfortunately they're all in Japanese. :[
Though I did find translations for the Shin Tenchi novels, , and .

I recently reminded my younger brother of Tenchi (it makes him all nostalgic as well), and since we live in different locations he's downloading the series (I have the physical copies :P) - he tells me it looks like there's been a surge of popularity all of a sudden, saying there are people from "Arab Emirates, Australia, UK, US, Czech Republic, Israel, Brazil, Norway, Poland, Japan, Thailand, Italy, Finland, Latvia, Russia.." downloading Tenchi stuff. Sure hope there is a surge.

Its what i call "the 20 year cycle"

The 2000's are a testament to that, every 20 or so years, things that were once popular then, become increasingly popular once again, case and point, Metal music, most people didnt know it existed then in 03 or so, it becomes one of the hugest selling markets again like it did in the 80's, rap is now pretty much dead and is giving the way to hip hop, and 90's esque music, the same can be said for anime,

the late 80s was when anime was just coming out of the "dark ages" and into mainstream in america, tenchi is still a huge seller in Japan, but in America, its hardcore people such as ourselves who keep it alive, but now that the "cycle is repeating" people are looking to older anime (IE 90's anime, trigun, Tenchi Muyo, outlaw star) the classics, and are discovering "hey thats what my friend/older bro? etc was talking about) and its freakin sweet because its pumping new blood into them (now if only we can get the original cast back one more time)

Indeed, I'm sure that this cycle exists - I've also noticed in the past couple of years that electro's influence has returned; you can tell the electro sound is ubiquitous in chart music today.

I hope we squeeze out at least one more Tenchi-centred series. Even without the original cast, I'd be delighted if one comes.
