I guess i should clear that up, i dont dislike either character that Achika portrays, sorry if it came out that way, i was just saying, no matter what personality it was, i was just grateful it WAS Achika (probobly should have said it that way in the first place), lol I think shes a great character, i prefer TMiL1 but whichever Achika they picked for the game was fine with me, again as long as it was her |

I'd always thought that since Achika had come from the "Tenchi Universe" continuum and not the OAV's that she'd never be accepted officially as his mother character. The unnamed mother shown in the OAV series would've gotten that distinction I thought rather than Achika. Even so, the family unit constructed in the TMiL1 film was very nicely done. Their personalities were perfectly matched and Noboyuki and Achika were both very believable as Tenchi's parents. Hair splitting arguments aside, the Achika from TMiL seems to fit the best as his mom because she was designed to be exactly that if I remember right. There was something about that in the insert in the VHS tape of TMiL that describes it ... time to go looking around for that I think ... |

I always thought it was cool how in TMiL1 when fighting Kain she transformed into what looked identical to the "Unnamed" mother from the OVA, that kinda (along with this find of course) solidified it for me |

And I think I stand corrected - Koji Masunari-san created Achika to be "Tenchi's ultimate ideal woman". Even better yet since I think most guys do see their mother as an "ideal woman" and the first woman a man ever loves is his mom. ^_^ There is a great deal of similarity in the appearance of Achika transformed and the appearance of Tenchi's mom in the OAV, so that was a good tie-in there. And in both scenes we see Tenchi's mom dutifully carrying out her responsibilities as a mother - in one place she is nurturing him as a child, and in the other, protecting him from the evil Kain. Like Masunari-san describes, Achika is a traditional woman and takes her role as mother very seriously. The only thing that really saddened me about Achika, is that she didn't get really any screen time beyond TMiL1, when she clearly has a ton of potential as a character in any of the Tenchi stories. |

Thanks for the upload, its nice to see that! Achika character could easliy be added to a story or universe as shes such an important character to Tenchi, i'm surprised that they havent done more, hopefully in the near future we will see some of that potential put to script |
