I don't think it would have worked out. Noike is too different personality wise than Kiyone, imo. They were both galaxy police officers and they both like yelling at Mihoshi, but that's about it. I can't imagine Kiyone in Noike's role, I think they would have to change the story around. Not that it would be a bad thing if they changed the story, it would probably be a big improvement.

If they did push Kiyone into Noike's role, though, I feel the fans would have taken to her better than Noike. It wouldn't feel so forced to have a big chunk of the plot dedicated to a character we already know. I might actually be interested if Kiyone was the adopted daughter of Seto or if she had a chibi-kagato in her. So who knows?

I have to agree with Oyasumi here, Kiyone couldnt have been Noike, but she would have been a better improvement, in both the character set and the plot in general

Not saying i have any idea what runs through Kajishima's mind but, looking at Noike, i think the way she plotjacked the story, it almost feels like he threw her in there on that whim that we would accept her like Kiyone because of her background with Mihoshi, aside from the fact shes played out like Tenchi's fiancee, and was one of his "GXP-Link" characters. I think if that was his intention (to throw that tidbit in there to have her accepted faster) it obviously backfired, no one can ever replace or fill Kiyone's Spot, and even thinking that is futile.

I really think it could have worked out fine, though the only problem is Noike didn't stress her career. Oni-hime had it covered for Noike, whereas Kiyone had to do everything in her power to advance.

Thats true, but Kiyone just isnt Noike, maybe i'm not giving Noike a chance but then again, Kiyone has more then proved herself, shes had to put up with Mihoshi for a whole hell of a lot longer then Noike, Kiyone comes off even though all about her job, still a gentle person with the patience of a saint, and DID NOT, plot jack the series, i know thats kind of a low blow to Noike's part as its not her fault, but it happened, and thats something that cant be ignored, and it wasnt even that she plot jacked it, she destroyed the dynamic of the household, Ryoko and Aeka are fighting,its what they do, Noike jumps in "Stop fighting help supper NOW" ok wtf that could have been a funny scene, I cant see Kiyone doing that, Kiyone would have just been like "screw it" "they are who they are and laughed with everybody else", exactly how it should have been, and the only way that it could be

I know its ranting, but Noike does that to me, but i digress, for Kiyone to work would be to introduce her the way she was originally, in other words, after all we've been through with Kiyone, theres no way she could fit Noike, it would be an insult to her

It looks like Mihoshi is younger, and Kiyone's hair is much, much shorter so this must have been sometime in the past, still a great pic though, where did you find it?
