Personally this is what I like about the unconventional pairings, they just open up a whole new world of ideas and feelings about the couple.

Misaki/Tenchi
Kiyone/Tenchi
Airi/Tenchi ---> I'm totally down with that.

I'm not a Ryoko hater, I like her fine, but the only reason I'm more interested in the other pairings is because they haven't been done to death.

Mihoshi/Tenchi doesn't get a lot of love, either. Which is ashame, Mihoshi is my third favorite character, after Ryoko and Ryo-ohki.

Totally forgot the Mihoshi/Tenchi...which I think is just plain adorable. One thing the OAV demonstrates clearly is that Mihoshi's a kind soul and I think those kind of characters are the ones who deserve happiness the most.

Prolly one of the most charming things I've ever heard a voice actress do is the love-struck giggle Mihoshi does in ep. 7 where she's trying to explain to her superior about Tenchi.

Oh I know, Jibbers. What I meant is that Misao's paranoid imagination running away with him. What I meant in my previous comment is: what would it be like, if Tenchi - the real not imagined Tenchi -- was that bold in the anime?
