I was rewatching OVA 3 episode 17, and I noticed something that previously I didn't really give much thought. What happened to Mihoshi? When her brother is thinking about what happened to her, he has some disturbing images in his head.

The first time I watched through, I thought it was just his imagination going to bizarre places, like in the previous scenes with Mihoshi hugging an evil, silhouette version of Tenchi with pointy teeth and big muscles. But some people pointed out that he said she ended up like that "again."

Was it just a poor translation, or did something really happen to Mihoshi? It's never addressed again in the anime, at least not that I remember. Does anyone have more information about this? Did Kajishima ever write anything about it? I'm really curious now.

There's a theory that Mihoshi's family is the sole key to her success. Perhaps whatever this event was caused them to decide she couldn't be trusted to work alone.

Yes, but no one would know that her family was the key. Behind-the-scenes, so to speak. Even she could've thought she was successful on her own.

I even heard one explanation saying that Mihoshi figured out she was related to Washu and her brain broke, explaining how stupid she is in OVA 3. So it's all open to interpretation.

He's kind of cute though. If I wasn't so annoyed with the fact that he took up so much time in the OVA 3, time we could have been spending with the main cast, he would be the kind of character that I would like.

To be honest I liked the little thing they did with Mishizu and Misao, and i thought Misao was a cool character, thats the one thing I was glad to see more of was the Kurimitsu family, and i thought well i could either A:) Stay pissed at the way the main cast was all over the place and completely wrong or B:) Enjoy the fact there's new people from a family thats kind of interesting, plus i enjoyed how "history repeated itself" when Misao was denied at first marriage based on status
