Hmm...decisions, decisions.

Tenchi in Tokyo's an interesting series that seems to have a bit of an identity crisis. It didn't seem too know if it should be a comedy or a serious show.
The first 12 episodes are kind of hit-or miss, but after episode 13 the show starts to get better.

I know that some people think that Tenchi treats the girls badly, and doesn't seem to care about them, but I feel that the way he acted was realistic. He was tried of them bugging him all the time. Much better then OVA3 Tenchi who did not seem to care about half the stuff that went on around him.

This is the series that has some of my favorite scenes. I love when Tenchi spares Yugi's life and says that she can live with him and the rest of the girls. That scene shows that Tenchi has a big heart and is part of the reason why Tenchi's my favorite character.

Tenchi in Tokyo also has some of my favorite Tenchi music.
Yes this Tenchi in Tokyo has flaws, but it also has a heart and soul of it's own, and it's what got me into Tenchi Muyo.

I like the series a lot, i can kind of understand why some people have a problem with it. It definitely has the weakest story line of all the series in my opinion, but i think its actually quite good for what it is.

yeh, the thing that kills it for me is all the school stuff with his friends and i found the moments he spent with sukuya to be a real bore.
this series does have its moments though and some very funny parts. oh yeh anothe thing that pissed me off was the mecha ryoohki....

I thought TNT was the worst example of TM story telling until GXP and OAV3 came around. now it seems like a work of shakespeare compared to the sub-standard, meandering, pointless and plotless crap we are being served. i feel cheated. TNT was a little stupid at times, with the little monster-of-the week thing; but it did have character development, and elements of drama that were well thought out.

i especially love the episode in which kyone goads ryoko into admitting she loves tenchi...classic.

shotgun - its those few eps when Ryoko leaves to become a space pirate, including miyokiyo nostalgiaing about their friend ship with her that saves this series for me.
i also quite liked the art work and directing. it was extra wacky, almost Warnerbrotherized, which i quite liked.

The very first scene was of two guys, redhead with dreadlocks, dude with goatee and an awesome hat, breaking into a small shrine. From that shrine, they stole a mysterious box. And to my knowledge, they were never seen nor heard from again.

The art is like the spare change they had when they finished TU. The characters are not the ones we know and love. Especially Kiyone ;-; *weeps*!!!
