Tiny Tales of Tenchi: Tenchi sighed and looked sternly. "Why don't you bring any boys from school you like home?! Set an example for your younger sisters!" Ramia sighed, she didn't remember what bought this lecture on, but it had something to do with cornering her father in the onsen all alone. He was red-faced and looked indignant. "I'm only older by a few minutes, sometimes a few hours at most!" she deflected. She and her sisters shared the same birthday... still she was technically the oldest. He pointed outside the door, she was to go. Some of her sisters would start crying tears at this point, but she never liked that tactic. --------------------------------------------- Later that week, Tenchi got a call from the school, Ramia had been in an fight and he was to come and retrieve her immediately. He went to the principal's office and wasn't too shocked when she saw her without any scratches. "The boy?" "Cut lip, black-and-blue eye, broken nose. Your daughter did quite a number on him." Ramia smirked at this. "Your daughter is suspended for a month, the next time she's out," the Principal added. "Someone can retrieve her homework at the end of every day." "Meryll can do that," Tenchi responded. "I'm sorry about this." He bowed. "He started it!" Ramia grabbed her father's back, lifting him from the bow. "The others say he was asking Ramia out on a date when she threw the first punch." "Hai," Tenchi responded. "We're sorry again," and resumed the bow. He grabbed his daughter and left quietly. As the school was receding in the distance and his lecture droned on, how she wasn't human and couldn't do those kinds of things and on and so forth, Ramia took his arm. Her father tensed but continued walking toward the Masaki house. At least she wasn't talking back. "I don't like you so old," she looked at his middle aged form, "get younger!" Tenchi looked around, and acceded to her demand, taking the illusion off. He wasn't in mood for a fight today. His daughters wore him out as it was. If any of the townspeople saw them, they would have taken them as an older brother and younger sister, or, unbidden came the thought, a college/highschool couple. Tenchi groaned, perhaps he should have kept his illusion. The miles came and went, until they were on the path to the Masaki house. He drilled into her the importance of blending in, not arousing suspicion. They were close to the porch. And then on the front door. He opened it and paused. She never said a word, and it was starting to grate on him, nobody in the household was this quiet if it wasn't for a reason. "Tell me," he said slowly, "why did you really get into that fight? Was he hounding you? Did he do something else?" Maybe she deserved the benefit of the doubt, perhaps she was mad at him for thinking the worst. "No daddy, I was just trying to follow your instructions and this is the only way I knew how. But you can give me a spanking anyway." She grinned at him in a way that made him uncomfortable. He shook his head. "What instructions?!" His mouth was agape. Things he said were often misinterpreted, but he never conceived it would be this bad. She shrugged. "To bring the boy that I liked home from school." She tightened her hold on his arm and dragged them both over the threshold. |
