Yeah really.
I liked their huge eyes and the softer look to them. I never noticed weird pointy cheeks. XD (I went and looked and they do have pointy cheeks, but I like them.) Do you like the OVA art best, then?

I think he's an Aeka hater>.< He does it again and again>.< Now, I'm reading volume 9 of the new Tenchi manga, that baseball game. Aeka could have easily shined, all he did was put her down>.< All he ever does is make Ryoko look good and superhuman. He has his faves like Washu too. But he just makes Ayeka look frail and weak, ignores Mihoshi, and puts Sasami on the sidelines. And he does this every other adventure>.< I'm glad I downloaded this volume 9 instead of buy it and that he's done his Aeka-hater manga and moved on>:0 There were only two good things from that universe: Minagi who appeared right in the first story, and Hiwa, not much later. Tama and other characters were okay, but I think the series got corny after the first 6 volumes. |

Volume 10 was better, so I think I'll buy that. I still don't like how Aeka is always delegated as the weak one, but everyone had a decent part to play in the final chapter, even Minagi. Although I think even Okuda forgot Minagi's past, it reads weird. |

New Tenchi vol. 1 disagrees with that. I like Okuda's universe. We get Minagi, and fun around the house - without, you know, going too far. |

I think it's pretty good, but not hugely special. I also disagree that he hates Aeka, but it is obvious that Ryoko is his favourite girl and he definately pushes her into the spotlight more often. On the other hand, he has given us some cute one-off stories. Ryo-Ohki training to go on a date with Tenchi was very sweet to me. |

Well, he didn't need to resort to wetnsloppy to show that the Tenchi family had fun around the house. Maybe too far was the wrong way to put it. |

I liked it. Out of all the Tenchi continuities, I liked Okuda's art style the best. I think he made the characters look the most appealing. (The OVA wins second place in terms of art style.) I liked his storylines a lot too. The only reason why I didn't vote for it as "the best" is because I generally prefer anime to manga, but if it ever got turned into an anime with a similar art style, it would probably become my favorite continuity. |

Really? It's my least-liked art-style, tying with TMiL2. I thought TinT was even better. They all have those weird cheeks with a point, and stuff>.> |

I like OAV1+2, but there is some fanart that I think surpassed them all. (I think Okuda's style for drawing Tenchi Masaki is different in volume 9-10 of the second manga run than it was earlier. Tenchi looks strange). I also learned some things I did not need to know about Japanese culture from the manga just now, (red underline mine): |

Minagi appears since Okuda's 1st Tenchi manga he ever made and pops up time to time all the way to the last one. |

I have to say that I really liked Okuda's Manga, his art style was very unique to Tenchi, but it was easily one of the things that drew me to it |

Wait, isn't this the manga where Tenchi and Funaho spent the day in town? If so then I've read some of it. Thou I liked seeing Funaho, I'll stick with the anime. |
