Movie's...which is it?

I have to ask because I have heard so much arguing over which Tenchi movie is the best. For me its a tie between the first and third one. Of all three movie I think these two have the strongest storyline and strongest character development. But enough about that, i'm interested in what you all think.

Glad to see other people like the third one too. My biggest problem with that one was the fact that the best part of the story wasn't told in the film (TMiL Eternal Memory)

The second one is great, but I do prefer the other two. They could at least made it normal movie length.

The best one is of course the first one. I love everything about it. It's my personal favorite movie of all time. Until a fourth movie with a greater focus on Sasami arrives that is.

Oh crap... Now I want to see a fourth one set in the OVA universe with Sasami as a teenager being a "big sister" to Kenshi. Maybe a movie leading up to Seikishi.
A fan can only dream... And write terrible fanfics.

The Second one for me. To me it was how a Tenchi Movie would be. Like in the First one, they're all put back in time, they aren't really themselves as they have some sort of mission, in the third it's basically just Ryoko and Ayeka, but in Daughter of Darkness, they're all in the house, new character has got them all kinda riled up, and it's full of fun and stuff. ^__^

I like the third movie a lot because it does bring a conclusion to the Tenchi Universe storyline. It also brings resolution to the Ryoko vs. Aeka conflict and in a way that I personally found to be rather acceptable.

The first film does introduce Achika and details the backstory of her high school romance with Noboyuki. However, aside from that the main plot is rather unoriginal even if it does provide a different sort of adventure for our favorite characters. Well not all that different from the Time and Space Adventures arc in TU ... ^_^;;

The only gap that Eternal Memory fills is "what was Sasami doing while she was fooling around on Jurai?" And the answer was "getting high."

And possibly playing with magic tree sap. The jury's still out on that one.

I like Daughter of Darkness best. So many cute Ryoko/Tenchi moments.

Cuddling on the roof, Ryoko getting called "Tenchi's devil princess", spending Startica together, Ryoko wanting to be part of Tenchi forever. It was awesome. Plus Mayuka was cute too. Second favorite is Tenchi Muyo in Love 2, then Tenchi Muyo in Love (though I do love Achika!)

ive already spoken of how i feel about the 3rd. i dono which is my fav its defiantly out of the first 2. hmmmmmmm
the first one is really well made, like it feels like an actual motion film (liek ud see at the cinemas). yeh it would be the first.
i still really liek the 2nd one though its pretty close behind.

The time tenchi spent with sasami was circumstantial. As i recall, didnt he actually want to be enrolled in the school as well? (to watchout for his mum) but couldnt, due to some time paradox-somthing or other? Its the same thing with sasami, what else was she going to do? enroll in the primary school? there was no need because Achika was in secondary school. so i don't know how that proves anything.

also that spinoff manga doesn't prove anything ether. tenchi is still oblivious and thinks shes talking about the liquor store :lol:

and in TMiL2 (the actual movie) u rarely see sasami at all.
