Hello Petrea,

I'm sure you get tons of letters saying what I'm about to tell you, but I just wanted to let you know how brilliant I thought you always were as Ryoko for the Tenchi series. It was my favorite show when I was younger and I watched it mainly for Ryoko's character. I just started watching the show again recently and forgot how good it really was.

Its a shame things didn't work out for you to return for OVA 3. I'm far from alone when I say the show definitely was not the same without you.

Anyhow, I know you're a busy person and you must get countless letters repeating what I just said, but I just wanted to let you know that your work is still greatly appreciated and the Tenchi fans everywhere miss you.

I'm always honored to hear from Tenchi fans. Surprised, too, after all this time, that people still care. I think that anime touched some heartstrings.

That's wonderful, and I agree with you all. It just wasn't the same without her.

She most likely wanted more money and if dvd menus from Funimation tell us anything, Funimation said no.
My yu yu hakusho dvds and Tenchi dvds look like their menus were made with windows DVD maker.


Edit- oh and let's not forget "JUPITER!!?!" when Tenchi is clearly in front of Saturn.

My radio alarm accidentally used to switch to that NPR on occasion. Has a mind of its own I think. I didn't recognize her at the time but I think it was about the time she did traffic reports.

Petra's awesome and irreplaceable. I was actually surprised that she was surprised...
once upon time you could type 'tenchi muyo' or 'ryoko' into google and shit loads of fan made (geosites lol)
would pop up. Tenchi Muyo is major nostagia hit for almost all anime enthusiasts.

Thats great that she got back to you! I was kinda surprised she was surprised, Tenchi was just something legendary back then

Now on the subject on whether it was her or FUNI as the reason she didn't come back or not, I'm sure everybody has things that could stop them from doing this, however Its been noted many times the just blatant disregard for quality or caring of any sort when it comes to FUNI getting "second hand" anime, OVA3 is a shining example of this, I personally think they offered her too low a hiring price and or were just complete turds in said process, and to make it even worse, instead of getting a decent replacement (I could think of one actress right off the top of my head who could do better), we get nasily Izzy/Stan's Mom "Mona Marshall", I'm going with FUNi as the reason

She's quite active as a blogger over at - which is exactly what it sounds like. Her photos range in quality, but it's more about what you see than how it's taken. Check it out; minus the heat, Pasadena's a pretty neat place.
