Take your Bets, another OVA?

It may be a bit early, but as SKT is slowly drawing to a close (11 was released no too long ago, 12 is said to release in February), depending on how SKT ends, do you think there will be another OVA after SKT?

It should also be dually noted, that Kajishima's 3 Tenchi anime contract will be up with AIC after SKT

I'm going to say that I think there will be a sequel OVA for Tenchi at this point in time. I don't have any basis for that but it's just my gut feeling. The proof is in the pudding though, and I feel that right now all of the possibility for another OVA hinges upon the outcome of SKT. Whether or not we see a cameo, how exactly it ends, and how Kajishima feels about the series when it's all said and done. I certainly would like to see another OVA, but it would have to be of a much higher quality than the previous one. Also, when it would get licensed in the US, it would need Petrea in it (but that goes without saying ^_-).

If a fourth TM!R OAV can be made, then it will be made. Also, couldn't give a damn about complaining about OAV3, America or Petra.

Yes there probably will be another OVA.
The next OVA will probably answer some of our questions, and give us some new ones to think about. I just hope that we find out about Mihoshi's past.

I think it could go either way.. OVA3 left a bad taste in my mouth, what with the craziness and all the new characters, not to mention Miss Perfect Noike. I wouldn't want a new series with her as the center, that's for sure.

As far as one happening, I think there's definitely a possibility. I guess it all depends on Kajishima?

Though, if we do get another one, I hope it's more on the level of the old OVAs. Better development and less last minute plot and throwing info in our faces! Also, more focus on the original characters.. We're stuck with Noike, but please don't shove Ryoko and Aeka in a corner! They could stand to develop the new girls a little more, too.. Let us warm up to Noike, Tennyo, Rea, whoever.. I think most people couldn't get attached to them at all with the way OVA3 went.

And yeah.. Hopefully they'll throw in stuff about Washu and Mihoshi if they do make one, too.

After 2 very successful OAV runs totally 13 episodes, AIC developed a Tenchi TV show and movies and spinoffs to milk it.

Same thing may happen here.

How sucessful was it?

Can anyone tell me what SKT is? I've been out of the loop too long.

And OVA 3 has been the witch burning of this site, and being that, I'd like to go on the record to state...

Nothing was too wrong with it. We deal with different actors carrying the torch for the predecessors in big budget films. Though odd to transition to another face or voice, still bears the weight of the story and direction.

OVA 4 would be nice. Not worth holding one's breath. Sounds like everyone here is pretty meh on it anyway.

Still IN LOVE with OVA 1 and 2 and Tenchi TV and STM and all the movies. OVA 3 is kind of like that one bad relationship that you still think about and a random good memory pops in and suddenly it turns into a good relationship memory.

Amirite or amirite?!

If they made a new OVA it would be sort of around a new storyline right? They've said that the OVA's were about the chousin and that was brought to a -quite bad- conclusion.
