So after all thats happened, we figured out noike's "fiance" role was just a way for seto to spy on the tenchi crew before she visited the house personally to see the situation herself. So I'm pretty sure now that jurai is comfortable with the tenchi house and no longer worried. So are Noike and Tenchi technically still engaged? I mean they never really showed the engagement being fake, just showing why it was done....

I think it's real enough.

According to one source, there is a doujin by MK which explains that Seto actually did indeed intend for Noike to be in a true engagement with Tenchi. The whole "spying the Masaki household" was itself a cover story to get Noike to agree to the engagement, since she had turned down all previous engagements Seto planned for her.

I thought he marries everyone including Ryo ohki. Creepy.

It's hard to say. I mean, I thoght the creators left that open so the veiwer could decide who he should marry.

At first, Noike was afraid of being betrothed to Tenchi. She ran away from Tennyo and Airi before they were able to introduce her to Tenchi. When Noike met Tenchi, she wasn't aware of him being Tenchi. She had likely had assumed that Tenchi was another Tenchi. After she learn of the truth about Tenchi, she was still recluent to be betroth to Tenchi until she had gotten to know him better. She did accept her betrothal because she found that Tenchi was a nice person. Noike had fallen in love with Tenchi.

While Noike is not the perfect rival for Ryoko and Ayeka, the prefect rival for Ayeka and Ryoko is a girl who have known Tenchi since they were children, and the same age as Tenchi. The first prefect rival for Ayeka and Ryoko was Sayuka of Tenchi in Tokyo.

I feel the whole Noike thing was a total cop out

to me it seems like the creators didnt want to make a choice as to what girl tenchi would take, so instead of just leaving it as they were just a big family (where I would argue to say most fans wouldnt be too happy about that, but I could understand that choice) they added a random new character and made up some lame excuse as to why she came to tenchis home and how shes "engaged" to him or w.e

heres my question, up until Jurai came on episode 12 I believe, they didnt seem to know about tenchi being yosho's grandson..so if thats the case how the crap was this marriage set up?

not to mention Noike is adopted by a Jurain correct? that means shes not a true Jurain, where as niether is Tenchi..hes part Eathling and part Jurain..But the king has a grudge against him because of this and was upset with yosho for going to earth and marrying an earthling

so how would the king allow for such a marriage to occur? (the whole devil of jurai or w.e that ladies name is ALSO seems like a cop out to me, I cant imagine the king being so afraid of her he would allow such a thing to occur)

anyways back to the topic at hand. Even if the engagment is still real, I feel like tenchi would refuse
