| Post subject: | The Masaki Shrine |
I have always wonder where the Masaki Shrine was located. At first, the Shrine was a shabby rural shrine in the mountains according to Tenchi in episode one. The Shrine looks like has been well maintain. It is the main shrine of the Masaki family. The Shrine seems to be located near a large town. In TM: GXP, Seina rides his bicycle on a bike path. To Seina, the bike path is well known short cut to Kai's house as well as to the other side of town. The bike path is often use by locals for hiking and for bike riding. The Shrine is definately located in a large nature preseve. The size of the nature preserve is not known. The preserve is well known to the people in the nearby town. The Masaki family cemetary is located in the same nature preserve. Since the Masaki Shrine is a Shinto Shrine, there is a small Buddhist temple near the family cemetary. There is a road near the Masaki's residence. It seems that it is not a busy road. The road seems to be within a part of the preserve. The fields are located next to the road. They are likely part of the Preserve. The town near the Masaki Shrine seems to located northwest of Kurashiki. The town may be located very close to Kurashiki. Tenchi is able to visit former site of his house in Kurashiki City. The site is located near Tenchi's old school. The Masai Shrine has become sort of a hot spot for UFO activity. We are aware of what is behind the UFO sightings. |

In episode one, Tenchi tells a classmate about the Masaki Shrine being a shabby rural shrine. The Masaki Shrine is not a shabby shrine. It is well maintain since it is the main shrine of the Masaki Family. The people in the town are aware of the shrine. In Tenchi Universe, the Masaki Shrine is located near a town. There is a grocery store near it. The shrine is located near a busy road. Tenchi and his father plus the neighbors use a bus stop next to the shrine. |

Well things change from series to series. Its hard to nail down things which differ from one series to the next. In the OAV, its fallen into some disrepair, but after Tenchi's house is moved closer to the shrine, it seems as though they clean it up. Tenchi's house is destroyed in the OAV and rebuilt by Washu which is why suddenly it has a dock on it etc. But yeah Tenchi OAV, Tenchi Universe, Shin Tenchi Muyo, and GXP all contain many of the same characters, but they should probably be viewed as entirely seperate series other than that. The characters meet in different ways, different characters appear, some have just new appearances, etc. |
