Ovwer the years, I have been reading the Wikipedia articles on the series Tenchi Muyo. In the Tenchi Masaki and Mihoshi biographical articles, the name of Miyuki Kuramitsu appears. Miyuki is Tenchii's older half sister. In Mihoshi's Wiki-bio, she is related to Tenchi through her great-grandmother Miyuki Kuramitsu. I start to wonder how Miyuki Kuramitsu be Mihoshi's great-grandmother and Tenchi's older half sister.

Some fans will like to point out that Miyuki Kuramitsu can't be Tenchi's older half sister. In the Mihoshi wiki-bio, Tenchi's mother Kiyone had an affair with Koyari Kuramitsu. Koyari is the half brother of Mikamo Kurmitsu. Mikamo was the husband of Washu Hakubi.

On two family trees, Koyari is the name of Mikamo's wife. The name Koyari is a name given to both sexes on Seniwa. It is likely that Mikamo and his wife Koyari had decided to adopt Kiyone's child. Kiyone's child was a girl. Her name is Miyuki Kuramitsu.

We have to remember that Kiyone was 248 years old when she died in her sleep. Kiyone's brief affair with Mikamo's half-brother Koyari Kuramitsu was a result of a student-teacher relationship turning into a romantic one. Mikamo's and his wife Koyari were aware of Kiyone mother being Airi Masaki. While Kiyone's and Koyari Kuramitsu's brief affair could have been a scandal. it was not because Kiyone's mother Airi intervene. Airi had to inform that Kioyne's father was really Yosho Masaki. The Kuramitsu family had treated Kiyone's affair as a honest mistake. Kiyone had agreed to allow Mikamo and his wife to adopt Miyuki. Miyuki was allowed to be aware of her Masaki heritage. She was able to see herself as a member of the Kuramitsu family.

To me, Miyuki Kuramitsu is the older half sister of Tenchi Masaki. I was trying to figure out how Miyuki was Tenchi's older half sister a puzzle to solve. Kiyone's age was the best clue to solving the puzzle. Since some Seniwans can live for a very long time, Washu's and Mikamo's son Mikumo was able to married Miyuki despite the major difference in the their ages. Two of Miyuki's and Mikumo's children are Mihoshi's grandfather Minami Kuramitsu and his sister Mikami.

Miyuki became a very important member of the Kuramitsu family. She was likely able to convince the Kuramitsu family council to allow Mihoshi's brother Misao to married his fiancee Mashisu. Miyuki seem to have use her influence to change Misao's punishment.

Misao's father Nakita Kuramitsu was working undercover. His undercover assignment was focus on the rouge group of Galaxy Army generals who were working with Tarant Shrank. Nakita had enlisted his son's help. Nakita Kuramitsu was working undercover for Lady Seto through Mikami, and Miyuki Kuramitsu.

If there is an OVA 4, Miyuki will likely play a major role in the series. Since Mihoshi had fallen in love with tenchi, Miyuki will likel came to see Earth in order to see her brother.
