ANB, I thought that was only the end of the first Tenchi ARC that was announced, and that he was going to move to the next part of Tenchi's history. That implied that there was going to be another Tenchi series some time in the future.

I also expect that before the next ISM, K-sensei will want to clear up some of Kenshi's back story, which would be best handled in a 4th Tenchi OVA.

But since he said that about all the previous OVAs, and they have been sucessful to some extent, then I don't see a reason to expect OVA 4 not to be so. And as I said, I think that he will need some lead in for what ever Tenchi-verse work he does next. Of course it possible he might go back to Proton, Dual, or even Aggu Ruter, but I doubt he will give up the money me make doing Tenchi-verse titles.

I wonder if he's just teasing. What he describes sounds like a slice-of-life series, and from what I know, those are fairly popular in Japan.

Okay. First off, I would like to apologize for bitching out...All those ages ago, I suppose it is now.

Next, I'd like to ask: Disregarding OVA 3's sales in Japan, did it sell well in America?

Because it seems like from multiple things that a fourth OVA is entirely possible...

(I'd like to apologize in advance for any of my possible trademark stupidity.)
- Someone said that OVA 3 was quite popular in Japan, I believe.
- It seems that Kajishima plans to take the series in a direction that would make out quite well with the target audience.

My only concern is that, if a fourth OVA is indeed made, it might not have the kind of popularity in the US to warrant a translation.

Also, I have a side-question: Are there going to be no more Hitoshi Okuda series, for good?

Because that makes me sad.

OVA 3 was about the disclosure of the Chousin Goddesses. OVA 3 did have its share of problems. When there was an opportunity for Kajishima to introduce the Childhood Friend, he introduces another female character. One does not turn out to the perfect rival for Ayeka and Ryoko. Noike's engagement to Tenchi turn out to be a ruse. Noike was sent by Lady Seto to keep an eye on the Masaki Household. Oddly, Noike starts to develop feelings for Tenchi.

Maybe, the Tenchi OVA series is over with. Yet, Kajishima left us wondering what had happen between the end of OVA 3, GXP, and St. Knight's Tale/ISM. I don't know if there is going to be an OVA 4. Kajishima has an opportunity to do another Tenchi series like Universe and Tenchi in Tokyo. The new series can be OVA 4 with an interesting twist. It will be a good ideal to do a harem series in which the primary character is a female who finds herself involved with a harem. This series is told from the heroine's perspective.

Right now, I am eagerly waiting for what Kajishima will do for the Twentith Anniversity of the Tenchi Muyo OVA series.

I'd like to see more Tenchi, but I fear they'd move farther away from their roots. The backstory in the OAV 1 and 2 were well fleshed out. Since then they've been declining at an accelearting rate.

I hope for a fourth one, but I hope it isn't rushed like the third one was. I'm still certain that if the third one had been more than a few episodes long, we would have gotten more used to the changes. Instead it just sucked. Too much story, too many new characters, and no time for any real character development, unless you're Noike, that is.
