Everyone at the Masaki household must do their best not to attract any attention from the outside world. They will have to struggle to keep a low profile. Tenchi can state that his roommates are some of his many cousins. Still, some people will wonder about what is going at the Masaki household. Some may think think that Tenchi and Hhs female roommates have form a New Religion Cult.

Tenchi and his roommates have found some ways which enable them to keep a low profile. The girls can continue to stay at the house. Yet, they have a reach a point where they want to get out of the house. They want to know what's like outside the Masaki House.
They do need some help with their outfits. They need to find what to wear outside the house as a way to keep a low profile.

Their best way for keeping a low profile is the location of the Masaki house. It is located what seems to be a large nature preserve connected to the Masaki.

What do you think on how everyone is able to keep a low profile. Esp when dealing with the UFO sightings near the residence.

It seems to be rather unusual for any of them to actually leave the grounds, but even if they do - nothing ever seems to come from it. Ryoko often goes to the store to buy a jug of sake. They all pay a visit to the hot springs in one episode, but the proprietor makes little fuss about them until they blow the place up lol. I'd guess that it's either a writer's convenience or a plot hole that the outside world doesn't seem to notice all of the strangeness. There are also many instances in non-OAV stories where blending in with society is required, so they go through the usual routine of disguises, usually school girls ... including Tenchi ... lol So whenever it becomes necessary they can all go incognito, but most of the time no one seems to worry about all of the giant spaceships floating in the skies.

To be fair, the house is currently located far from the nearest city, so most of the events arn't seen by anyone else. It should also be noted that the Jurai ships posses a form of cloaking device known as a Storming Guard. Ryo-Ohki might also have similar capabilities.

The only real incident I can think of is the disappearence of tenchi's house in episode 1.

The was ruined in episode 2 which did get the attention of the TV news, however the report attributed the incident to a "meteor". So possibly the cloaking device doesn't just make ships invisible, it can make ships appear as other objects like meteors or clouds. Although the uncontrolled re-entry of spacecraft into the atmosphere would be rather firey and meteoric.

At the beginning of OAV 3 some of Tenchi's school pals, including Amagasaki, express some interest in Tenchi's "girlfriends" however Tenchi does his best to dodge the issue and of course never invites any of the guys from school over to meet them. ^_^;;

One thing to remember is most of their neigbors are descendents of Yosho. Remember how Tenchi's aunt and cousin live close enough to drop Taru off at Tenchi for emergency baby sitting. Other family members who have returned to Earth after the sojoun to the Galaxy also live around the Temple.

About the keeper of the hot springs, she is Tenchi great aunt, and therefore knows the great secret. She may not know exactly who they are, but she would know Mihoshi was GXP, and maybe know that the Princesses are also member of the Royal Masaki clan of Jurai.

As for the Japanese govenment, remember who Yosho and Rea visited to explain what happen to the bridge? In Tenchi's universe the governrnents of Earth (aka Colony World 315) do know all about the existance of aliens on the planet, even if they don't know exactly who they are.

So I doubt that Tenchi harem has much to worry about the locals who live in the neighborhood. And with Yoshi and Washu living there they should not have to worry about the rest of the planet either.

That's true. In the manga, Washu-chan was shown to be rather liberal with memory erasing, which back to bite her on the ass during the Dark Washu arc.

When I had written this topic, I was thinking about Amane and Ryoko B. were wearing in GXP. Amane and Ryoko B. were wearing their formal outfits when they were seeing Seina's parents. Amane's and Ryoko's choice of clothes were likely a result of Seina's bad luck. Kiriko did not have the time to help Amane and Ryoko to find suitable Earth Clothes for them to wear.

If Kiriko had the time, she will convince Amane and Ryoko to wear a Yukata. A Yukata is a summer kimono worn by people during the summer and many resorts. For their visit to see Seina's parents, Yukatas will be formal enough for Ryoko and Amane.

The town near the Masaki House are well aware of Tenchi and the others. If the girls want to visit Kurashiki City, they will have to wear Earth clothes which are suitable for them to wear. Tenchi and the girls will do their best to keep a low profile.

About the UFO's. Most of the UFO's will likely be helicopters sent by the Japanese Self Defense Forces. The helicopters will arrived before Mihoshi returns to Earth from Patrol.
