| Post subject: | Japanese Fairy Tales? |
Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew about Japanese fairy tales, or had any idea where to find some? I fancy doing a project the centers around Fairy Tales, and would like to include more than the obvious ones we all know and love. If anyone has any Other fairy tales from around the world that are less well known too, that would be cool too. Anyway, I may post the first "chapter" when it's done... |

Sir, you are in luck. I happen to be one of the resident Storytellers of the speech team in my school, and I have a decent array of knowledge. I don't know any Japanese folk tales, but I know quite a few less known stories. The Happy Man's Shirt, the Blue Jackal, Baucus and Philemon, The Wise Master, and Truth and Falsehood are all in my repetoire. |

See if you can find the 'Tales of Genji'. It is the first novel ever written (preceeding the Canterbury tales by about a century) and it shares a couple of similarities with Tenchi: http://www.lizadalby.com/taleofgenjipage.htm |
