I'd much rather play a melodramtic Final Fantasy than Grandia, I didn't like Grandia that much, Grandia II on the other hand I liked a lot, but it was too linear, I hope Grandia Xtreme isn't that linear, and it would be an excellent game.<br><br> <p><Center>Just as you touch the energy of every life form you meet, so, too, will their energy strengthen you. Ah...I've forgotten all about Super Mario RPG. I put so many hours playing that game. Yeah, it does discribe every game ever made.<br><br>Which is a oft-heard joke on my dorm floor how every game is technically an RPG.<br><br>The best and most widely accepted definition of an RPG is that it has levels and experience.<br><br>That is what divides RPGs from other types of games is its about building a character as much as it is about "defeating" whatever evil there is in the game.<br><br>Secret of Mana is definetly an RPG, just because it doesn't use the Square-style combat engine doesn't mean it's not an RPG. Square didn't even make RPG's for a long time. ENIX, Atari, Nintendo, and SNK were the first companies to make RPGs.<br><br>Square just saw a potential market and saw how diverse it was and intelligently decided they could win it over and became an RPG company.<br><br>Of course back then was when they actually make incredible creative and innovative game.
