Post subject: My Gamecube Died
PostPosted: Mon Jun 03, 2002 1:17 pm
One day a LONG time ago I was playing Super Smash Bros. Melee on my GC. Then it said it couldn't read the disk. I just thought it was dirty so I cleaned it and put it back in. My GC still had the same probelm so I re-cleaned the disk, but yet the probelm presisted. I have not touched the lens (at least to my knowledge) and it's not just the game. Does anyone know how to fix this probelm cause it's been this way for MONTHS!
Love transcends the law of physics - and even warp theory! I've never heard of that problem, but as with all things, sometimes you get defective models.

You have the warranty right? I think you might be able to send it back (should be able to).

ZL

Do your other games work? Maybe you scratched your disc or got something on it?
Empires wax and wane; states cleave asunder and coalesce.

If all else fails, find Ninny's e-mail, and e-mail them with your problem. I think they will care. If you have no gamecube to play on, you can't buy any of thier games, also if news got out, it might not look too good for them....
But this is the first I have ever heard of such a problem...

First time I actually hear about this.

I'm guessing that it's probably mechanic... Either the drive doesn't work or the laser doesn't emits normally...

GCN's disks are like all disks and don't just erase themselves. Are you disks scratched?

Do like ZL said.

Is this the only game you have? If so, I'd say borrow a game from someone else or rent a game to see if it's the game or the gamecube. It would be kind of a waste to email nintendo about a broken gamecube if it isn't really broken.. ..My gamecube discs tend to scratch easily and they still work.

My disk is not scrached, and I've rented a game to try on it, but all of my attempts fail. When ever I leave it along for a long time it lets me play for 2 minutes before dying. I'm starting to wish I hadn't sold my N64.
Dr. Clay had no idea how lucky he was...
<img src=http://www.fortunecity.com/victorian/kingston/196/whr22.jpg

Check the documentation that came with it. There may be something in there specifying what to do in case of defects (there may also be a warranty card...I don't remember if I saw one or not, but I usually hang on to whatever came in the console's box). I'd also write an e-mail to Nintendo and go to their site to see what your options might be.

ZL
Empires wax and wane; states cleave asunder and coalesce.
