09/12/2014: My previous attempt at renaming the directory to foil the spambots did not work. I'm trying now to change the login information for the SQL database. There may be a little bit of downtime but it shouldn't take long.
09/11/2014: I've been having problems with spambots preventing legit users from being able to sign up correctly. I've tried changing the directory from bbs to forums. Hopefully that will stop them and I can remove the retrictions stopping real users from signing up. Sorry if some of your bookmarks have become broken. They can be fixed by replacing bbs with forums in the properties.

Imagine my surprise, when out of nowhere came a call on my phone.... CVG wanted my e-mail, something about me applying to write for their reader's issue? After 5 minutes of not being able to close my mouth, I finally managed to tell them,
shadow_mask_sm@hotmail.com
I've just checked my e-mails, and they want me to be their (1 out of 2, if I understand the e-mail correctly) Gamecube Expert/writer!
But this is only the beginning...
Friday 26 July, CVG; Then Rare, Then Nintendo, Then... The World! Then Charity......

well, I now think any dream is possible.

Anyway, some you will be going, "CVG? What the $£#@ is that?"...
It stands for Computer and Video Games, and is the name of a Games mag here in Britian. They are not as good quality as they used to be, but still not that bad.
Anyway, they are doing a reader's issue. An Issue, written by the readers, for the readers (sorry, had to say that).
Ohki, I don't get paid, I have to pay for my transport, but I do get....
"an invaluable opportunity to input into a national games magazine, lunch and
the chance to win an Xbox games pod (the big units you see in retail
outlets)"

Ohki, it may not sound much, but hey, it makes Rare look a bit closer...
Oh, and the X-Box goes to...
"The RI team member deemed to have made the most valuable contribution (it
could be anything from generally working hard to writing something
hilarious etc) will win an Xbox pod (you can't buy these things but
they're worth several hundred pounds). CVG reader's will vote for who they
want to win it in the following issue."

So, if you're English, Buy an issue, and vote for me!!!!

Anyway, that is something cool for me, anyone else ever done anything like this? Tell US ABOUT IT!!!!

I know I've posted this twice, but a mod asked me to....

That mod...was me. ^_^

Hey, why not? We need topics here.

ZL

Empires wax and wane; states cleave asunder and coalesce.

Congratulations, Kagato! ^_^

I find it ironic that we both have a GCN writer and a PS hardcore fan on the same board. ^_^

Are you paid for the job? ^_^ I bet you're going to get free tickets to go to video game shows and all, right? ^_^

As much as you'd like to think I only want PS2 to succeed that isn't true.

anyway! I'm very confused. ...but congratulations ... ....on whatever it is... ...

No I am not paid.
I thought I said "what I get out of this"?
And no, no tickets to shows...
I only go down for one day.... I think I just to play on games that I have to review, and little else....

You get the inestimable honor of having written something for a gaming mag. And you get your opinions published. That's great!

ZL

Empires wax and wane; states cleave asunder and coalesce.

Went in today to play a game. I really only played two games, and one wasn't really my type. Still the other game I was really impressed with. But I can't tell you about it. No really I can't. I signed something saying I can't....

Since I did the playing today, And the next issue is out anyway (they gave me a latest issue!... And some crappy sandwiches for lunch), so I am guessing it is the next, which will come out about end of Augest.

But what was really annoying, was it sounded like I should really of gone to the thing they went to the day before. It had all the best GC games at it, ready to be played.... I wanna play Metroid Prime....
