I had to stop playing because I get too nervous! ^_^ That damn music scares me to death!!! ^_^ Especially when you read that the portrait on the wall looks very lively and could jump at you any second. ^_^ hehehe ^_^ I'll play some more when I calm down! ^_^ hehehe ^_^ I still can't believe the guard dogs! Post subject: Nintendo sinking?

Although I like nintendo, I am slightly angry that Sony sold the rights for resident evil to Nintendo. I bought the PS2 BECAUSE of the resident evil series, I can see what it can do on GameCube and I AM going to buy one but I think they should make it for all the systems. Its nice to see that nintendo is trying to get back on its feet since the utter stupidity of releasing the Nintendo64, I was very disappointed when I bought it. THE SUPER NINTENDO KICKS ASS!!!! I STILL LOVE IT. Nintedo better hope they get Square Soft to make Final Fantasy or they will continue to sink (even though its going at the rate the Bismark sunk.)

Nah, nintedo is still gonna be hurting on the rpg's for a long time. I don't think they are very interested in that right at the moment.

I don't think Nintendo is going to stay RPG weak for very long. Here is a list of To-Be-Released-But-Announced RPG's for GameCube:

-MonoLithSoft The staff who brought you XenoGears and XenoSaga announced they will be making a game for GameCube exclusively
-Skip has announced several games for GameCube (One to be made by the team who made Super Mario RPG [Lead by Kenishi Lichi])
-Sega has stated they will be making making two RPG's for the console in addition to several other titles
-Namco has announced they are working on an RPG title for GameCube exclusive, and have signed a "mutual partnership" to work together on future titles. Hmmm
-GLADIUS (Courtesy of LucasArts, it looks good)
-Summoner 2 (Somehow I am not looking forward to this one after enduring the last one)
-Dual Hearts
-.HACK//SIGN (MMORPG that has been really popular and successful in Japan in it's PS2 form. The GameCube version boasts increased graphics, faster log-in times, new 'load-in-memory' feature, reduced latency, and a new network code)
-XenoSaga (There are rumors on this one and we do know that Tetsuya Takahashi is a fan of Nintendo and especially the GameCube...I don't think it's a good idea though)
-Tales of Phantasia (Namco)
-Tales RPG (Namco)
-Unknown (Namco)
-Camelot RPG
-Phantasy Star Online (Remember the GameCube version is the version they are developing, the XBox/PS2 verisons are PORTS of the GameCube version)
-Skies of Arcada Eternal (I loved the first minus the lame badguys and bosses. A very fun game)
-StarFox Adventures
-Legend of Zelda (Cel Shaded and 3d version)
-GOTHIC
-Gift
-A new Final Fantasy (Can you see my enthusiasm at the announcement of another crappy Square release?)

Here are the games currently available:
-Lost Kingdoms
-Evolution Worlds

That's what I could get from a few minutes of research. The future for the GameCube is bright, my friends. And hopefully Nintendo will leverage themselves with Sony. That would be nice. Two strong competitors. Two's a company, threes a crowd. Lets see the XBox out, shall we? It's too diluted with three consoles. Two consoles seems like a good amount. Especially between Sony and Nintendo two companies, one dedicated to gaming, the other expanding into it. ^.^

-------

In other good news Bandai's first MMORPG (based on the Anime) .HACK//SIGN is outselling FFXI 10-to-1, and sales because of technical issues with Square's games have all but stopped sales. .Hack//SIGN may become the most successful MMORPG in Japan. A good tactic would to make a Zelda game that is a full RPG. It could work, and Zelda has as much, if not more, name recognition than Final Fantasy.

"I'm the greatest, and I can't possibly be beat!- Cassius Clay aka Muhammed Ali"I am become death, the destroyer of worlds"- Robert Oppenheimer

I've played a good deal of RE and I can now say that the GCN's version is the best! ^_^ Heck! It's among the best games I've played! ^_^

The value put into it are just amazing! Everything is so rich of details, all scenes, colors, effects mix so well and look so real that it makes you feel like you're in a CG movie! ^_^ It also has some clever puzzles! ^_^ I've especially liked playing chemist to find just the right amount of chemicals I had to mix to get the herbicide to kill the giant killer plant! ^_^

I love Resident Evil games! I want to hug them when I play!

That is, if "love" means "despise" and "Hug them" means "shoot myself in the head." :/

I am also curious, Yuje. Why would Xenosaga coming to GCN be a bad thing? I'm going to be getting it the MOMENT it hits in the Spring, but still...I can't say a Cube version would hurt (though qutie unlikely).

I hope to god Square doesn't screw up Chrono Break. IT IS THE ONLY SERIES FROM SQUARE I CAN HAVE HOPE FOR ANYMORE ;.;

Nate RFB: LOVE ELLY

Oh but you didn't play it through, right, SSJNate? ^_^

I was in this mansion where weird experiments have been going on and I walked on my merry way to one of their labs, next to the graveyard and under the local residence, where chemicals mutated plants and sharks to huge proportions. ^_^

Of course, I had to kill a giant shark eventually in their inundated underground lab... So there I was, unloading barrels after barrels of ammunition on the great beast, just when I noticed that I could push a computer into the water and turn on the power to fry it! ^_^

RE is more clever than you might think! ^_^ There's lots of object pushing, timing movements, puzzle solving as well! ^_^ I love it! ^_^

Sometimes, I just walk around just to stare at the beauty of the game! ^_^ There's even dust lifting off the ground when you walk! You can also see your reflection in little puddles! ^_^ I'm immersed into RE entirely! ^_^

Why do you hate this genre so much? ^_^

Post subject: Re: ^_^

It's not the genre. It's the GAMES.

First off, the controls are _the_worst_ of its kind. They're designed for a FPS, but instead you're stuck in a more Zelda:OoT time of environment. I HATE how you have to stop, turn around, go forward, stop, turn somewhere else, go forward, etc. etc. It's so freaking TEDIOUS x_x

The storyline is....well..."Zombies invade us, BLOW EM AWAY!" just because the gameplay hides underneath a lot of "puzzle solving," the plot definitely leaves something to be desired.

The general progression of the games is TERRIBLE as well. RE1, 2, and 3 are for all intensive purposes EXACTLY THE SAME. Same guns. Same menus. Same controls. Same environents. In other words, NOTHING new from the other games. You could play one RE, and for all intensive purposes say you've played them all.

And in general, I find the horror genre to be incredibly cliched. I simply do not see what is so fun walking around, blowing up zombies THAT ARE NOT SCARY WHATSOEVER, only to "escape" to do the EXACT SAME THING THE NEXT GAME.

I prefer some depth to my games, and frankly I've found almost all RE games to be shallow as sin.

Well, that's my opinion at least...I've only beaten RE3, afterall. Though I've played quite a bit of most of the others except for the one for GCN (I hate the controls in THAT one the most though).

Nate RFB: LOVE ELLY

Well, the RE on GCN is my first RE. ^_^ I'm not going to get RE2, RE3 nor RE:CV or whatever. ^_^ And I use the C-Type control, which is the best of the 3 choices. I'm very used to it now! ^_^ It's no big deal. ^_^

It's not about killing zombies. ^_^ It's about getting to the bottom of the whole conspiracy. ^_^ Someone started the experiments, it went bad and you're sent in to solve it. However, someone else doesn't want to world to know aobut it, so they try to get you killed as well. ^_^ I love all the note left around the house as well! It gives a different viewpoint from several persons, be it scientist, house guests, owners, victims, etc!

Accodring to reviews, the first RE is still the best. ^_^ And with GCN's power, it gets more real! ^_^ But It's just me. ^_^ You didn't play the RE on GCN, right? ^_^

Post subject: Re: ^_^

I've played pretty much every RE (Including the GCN one), except for RE:CV.

I just can't stand the thought of being in a room, pushing LEFT on the joystick, and watching my character turn rather than MOVING LEFT. I had the same type of problem with the PSX RE games as well as other similiar games like Dino Crisis.

Also, it should be noted that you "get to the bottom of the conspiracy" pretty much half way through the first game...or whatever. It's not exactly hard to figure out. Basically, Umbrella = really evil an' greedy an' wanna take over world w/ ZOMBIES! WOO! Oh...wait...gotta take out these lone S.T.A.R.S. members...yessiree...they have really nothing to do with our plot, but hey! GO GET 'EM BOYZ!

I also find it annoying how there are like ten stories going on AT THE SAME TIME if you line up all of the storylines of all the RE games. Can't we just get a FINALE QUICKLY? ;.; I don't know about others, but I am getting *DARN* sick of winding up "in another zombie infested zone" where the "mystery deepens even more." Get me to the part when we blow up Umbrella, and get NO MORE ZOMBIES, and I'll be happy.

Nate RFB: LOVE ELLY

If you look at it that way, then you pretty much know the story to most games from the beginning.

Personally, I suspected the conspiracy after hearing Barry talk in room 002. Then after killing Plant-42, Wesker just added to it.

I don't know where all this bitterness comes from. ^_^ I don't have a problem with the controls. But I'll stop here.

I'm sure that if there were NO RE games prior to the GCN one, I'd like that game in particular a lot more. It's just that I have experienced the other games (A friend of mine is a RE NUT), and have gotten sick of watching it all...

Nate RFB: LOVE ELLY
