Has anyyone else heard of this game? I played it at the Playstation Experience. This game is really cool.
It is cell-Shaded (seems to be Sega's thing that...), and this seems to compliment the anime style of the game nicely. I really thought it was based on an anime. I don't think it is, but it is clearly anime style, and I don't think an anime of this appearing is unlikely.
The game puts me in mine of Trigun and Hellsong (I think), animes which I have never seen, but still, I have seen thing of them, and I think they must of inspired the game in some way.
The game has one of those big anti-hero people. He wears a big trench coat, a hat, and his most unusual feature of fashion, he has a massive coffin shaped gun on his back. He also has two other guns. In this game, you can do those really cool Dives while you are still firining off your gun things you see in movies a lot.
Actual gameplay could be described as sort of simple, but it is really fun and cool, and you'll love it. I hear it is very short only 6 levels or something though.
A cool game, which I want. Shame it only appears to be for PS2. Oh well, I may have to hurry my plans to get one, though I have no idea when this game is out over here, or even in America. It is out in Japan I believe.

Here are a few sites I found.
www.gungrave.com/grave-e/grave-e.html
www.sega.com/games/ps2/po...k_gungrave
To give you an idea of the game....

I thought it was supposed to be a "sequel" of some sorts to Trigun...

Nate RFB: LOVE ELLY

That's funny. And to think, the author of Ah! My Goddess created the design for the main character of GunGrave ^^

Eikichi The Evil

My roommate has it. According to the instruction manual and packaging the designer of Trigun did the character designs.

It's made by RED (A group sorta associated with Sega who made all the Sakura Teisen games) They are a very respected development company. This game is probably there worst and probably the largest leap from there typical games.

And while it's defintely "good looking" for a cel-shaded game on a PS2 (Cel Shaded games really take a hit for 4mb of graphics memory). The game is awfully shallow and at times boring.

The character designs are by the guy who did Trigun (where you may see the similiarities. Besides being a gun-toting bad-ass the similiarities end here.

Your mission (every single time) is to walk around killing everything and blowing up inanimate objects (which you also get points for doing).

This gets a little old. The breathe of fresh air comes with the wonderfully animated FMVs that appear periodically.

The game is very easy and very simplistic (You take an awful lot of hits). Some may find a bit TOO so. So I suggest renting before buying as it gets boring.

To Sum it up:
The Bad: A plotless, pointless, easy, linear, no replayability, controls seem a bit sticky at times, bad frame-drops, and repetitive gameplay.

The Good: A fun game (at least at first), again at first can be satisfying to shoot stuff but that wears off. For PS2 standards the Cel shading is pretty good. FMVs. NICE. ^^

A bit less linear gameplay would have really improved the game. GTA3 really excells for it's sheer size as well as it's non-linear style while maintaining a similiar shallow plotless gameplay. Once you beat Gungrave it's pretty much over. Because of the lack of unlockable extras, lack of a highschool system, and repetitive style.
INTEL INSIDE
It's not a marketing gimick, it's a warning label.
