Yes, that's right, John Carpenter's The Thing movie is being made into a computer game! Sort of... the events in the game take place some time after the movie's events. You are in charge of a group of Marines dispatched to determine what happened at the facility. You have to deal with team members, making sure they trust you and are not scared (or infected), find out what happened at this facility, and, of course, deal with the lifeforms the thing has infected and possibly take on the real thing! More info can be found over at: http://www.outpost31.com

Now, of course, I can't leave you without screenshots... so here you go!

____________________________________________
"Jungle warfare is a right, then, nasty business. On an incursion across the Nigerian border, I once saw my scout swallowed by a python as he did his proper in the bushes... not five minutes pass, and an anaconda slithers out of dense jungle grass and swallows the python... that swallowed my scout... who was doing his proper in the bushes. It truly is a jungle out there, indeed." -Col. Frederick Biggins
|

I read a preview about the game about a year ago and it sounded amazing and QUITE innovative. The team of people with the whole "who is infected" paranoia and having to manage trust between the team sounds really cool. Especially since you also have to figure out if anyone in your team has been infected and whether you have been too.

It looks and sounds wonderful. Lets hope the previews, discriptions and screens really represent the final product well.

Gloria
Honorifice
Pralium Facio

Animus
Gradior Quo
Prodo

In Excelsis
Precedo
Bellator
Decerte
Adversa
Incurro
Invadoria

Desideratus Fatum!
Desideratus Bellum!

Coming Soon: New Siggie.

|

For some reason, I keep thinking about the Swamp Thing when I read The Thing. ^_^

This reminds me of that movie with John Goodman and Denzel Washington... there was an evil spirit going from person to person and even good guys turned to evil. ^_^ Quite nerve-racking! ^_^

|

Hey, didn't any of you buy this when it came out? I did, and it makes me so paranoid, that after every time I die, I am too nervous to play on and have to take a break for a while...
___________________________

|
