As the Next Gen consoles approach, I thought I'ld have a look at them.

First up, the one which I will be getting at launch, no worries. The Nintendo one. It is also, however, the one that nothing is known about, at least nothing juicy. I was actually worried when I saw it was going to be small, after hearing the Slim Playstation has... Extra trouble. However, then I saw a Mac, and bloody hell are those things small. So I think Nintendo know what they are doing. At least, I don't think they've decided to reduce the quality of their implementation of gaming yet. The Most interesting thing to look out for in the future, is the controls. Anyway, I don't know much about it, but I am sure as hell very interested.

Second up, the One I will be avoiding. Not the X-Box surprisingly, the PS3. Let me be frank. Sony make crappy products. Now don't go thrusting the specs, and other impressive sounding garbage down my throat, I'm talking about the implementation. The PS2 has a shoddy DVD reader. Mine no longer does anything, expect possibly read memory cards. PSP? Can you say "Won't last a week past the warenty?". Now about what we know. It looks stupid. Curved design? Gah, who the hell even places the PS2 in tower mode? The Controller? Go here:

Now The X-Box 360 does strangely interest me more than I thought it would. Not sure why. Maybe it is partly because it doesn't look completely moronic. And the custimization features sound cool. This is also the one that has the most info and screen shots of its coming games. So far, it all looks pretty interesting. There are a few stupid things, like the camera, as Penny Arcade said, will cause trouble as people mess with our heads photographing things we do not wish to see. Ever. But I am looking forward to it, strangely enough. Particularly since the X-Box was the last Prev-Gen Console I brought. And since the Revolution is pretty far away currently, with no doubt, I believe this will be the next console to join the ranks of my already impressive collection.

As for the rest, like the Phantom, they are still deathly quiet, and still seem like a joke.

Nothing juicy about the Nintendo Revolution? Are you crazy? They've already announced that you'll be able to download all of their old games for free. Up to N64, maybe Gamecube, IIRC.

And if you don't buy the PS3 you'll probably miss out on a lot of awesome games, which is what I said when people insulted the PS2. That's why their sales are so high -- because people have to keep re-buying PS2s to play their fave games.

The XBOX 360 is probably what I'll buy first because I love Microsoft and the harddrive idea, and I know that they're releasing 2 more versions of it later anyway.
