So who's got a Wii? Maybe we can play some Smash Brother Brawl or Mario Kart online someday.
I'm really wanting PS3 bad, but I think that thing tanked. Xbox 360 has sold 11 million systems worldwide and despite being launched a year earlier than Wii and PS3, Nintendo is catching up. Nintendo has sold over 10 million units already while PS3 is barely at the 4 million mark. Third party developers are having serious second thoughts about which system to devote their support to. Analysts from Merryl Lynch predict that in three years, PS3 foothold in this generation's console war will fall below 30 percent. The first 5 months since Wii's launch, the system has caught up so quickly to the 360, that its total sale of units is over 60 percent of both the 360's total sold and total shipped. Even now, Nintendo's system is still going strong and if this keeps up, the Wii will overtake the Xbox in a couple of months. Now keep in mind, the 360 came out a year before the Wii.
I'm alright with the Wii, but the graphics are dissapointing as hell. On top of that, there's also no high definition support... topping out at 480p.
Well maybe when the big name games like Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, and Gran Turismo games start rolling out will Sony's sales start picking up. But as of now, the shit's in the gutter. No one wants it, no one can afford it. When you walk into a store, one sees no Wiis but PS3s sitting on the shelves. When shipments of Wiis hit the store, they sell out immediately.
Shit's in the gutter man. Sony, do something. The hundred dollar price cut ain't doing shit.
So what do all this mean? No sales = No third party support = no games = RIP.
