09/12/2014: My previous attempt at renaming the directory to foil the spambots did not work. I'm trying now to change the login information for the SQL database. There may be a little bit of downtime but it shouldn't take long.
09/11/2014: I've been having problems with spambots preventing legit users from being able to sign up correctly. I've tried changing the directory from bbs to forums. Hopefully that will stop them and I can remove the retrictions stopping real users from signing up. Sorry if some of your bookmarks have become broken. They can be fixed by replacing bbs with forums in the properties.
Does anyone else here think that Pioneer is doing a major rip-off job with its pricing of the Tenchi in Tokyo and Tenchi Universe series (DVD)? On Amazon, you can get the OVA for $100 (Up from $89), and movies ($12) for a great price, but for the series, they charge upwards of $20+ for each DVD, which may only include 3 (at most 4 episodes)!!! Sure they throw little "extras" in there, but seriously...I think that's a major rip-off act by them. They sucker you in with "low" prices for the movies, but when you buy their series on DVD, I feel you are paying way too much, especially when each series has more than 6 DVD sets that you have to buy for the whole thing. Do you agree?
Empires wax and wane; states cleave asunder and coalesce.

Yeah I know what you mean.
Iwould think that DVD's would, at the bare minimun have more content(episodes)and the "Extras" than the VHS.
Personally, I would have liked to have seen AT LEAST
a 5-4-4--4-4-5 release schedule. OR a box set for
$150-175 range. But I guess that's just wishful thinking on my part.
That's probably why I only have a couple anime DVds
because I'm "too demanding"
Sorry about the rant, but I know a lot of my friends,
who are casual anime fans, balk when they see lots of 5o min discs with a $30 tag.
I'd like to know if I'm in the minority though...

look guys these are new items and theyre are in VERY HIGH DEMAND!!! you gotta bring the business terms of supply and demand into account dudes. These prices will go down when we have less confused newbies, I'll guarantee that cause our Tenchi Muyo! prices rose last month.
"As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no Death! Because im the Meanest mother Fucker in the land!!!"

Yeah baby!

<ahref="http://www.unitedanime.com">UnitedAnime.com! I don't believe it's all due to simple supply and demand. I rather think that this is a designed "shortage" strategy created by Pioneer, along with a price fixing strategy to lure customers in. Why else would Amazon have the DVD movies sold at $11.00 each, while the Tench in Tokyo series sells at $20 per DVD? I don't believe that demand is THAT HIGH for Tenchi in Tokyo!!! Yes, the OVA's are popular, and thus the according rise in price and be accepted, but the discrepancy in the movie and TV series' prices is still questionable.

Whoops, I stand corrected. Tenchi in Tokyo DVDs are selling at: $25!!!! Sigh. At least my Tenchi Forever movie just arrived.
Empires wax and wane; states cleave asunder and coalesce.

Actually, $25.00 for DVD anime isn't that high really. Like every other series sells for about that price. Espescially since Tenchi in Tokyo is fairly new.

The DVD box set was a very good price though like 89.00 for the entire OAV and all the extras they included. I'll bet they realized how much money they were losing on that.

Tenchi Muyo, No Need for a Homepage

Watch it on VHS!!It's just as good.Give Tenchi a few months and it will wear out a little bit.(Like Pokemon)The prices will go down a little bit,and that's when we come in.When people buy these episodes,either1:The parents will return it because of the content. The kids saw it on Toonami, they show the edited versions, and there are NO edited versions out in the US right now.or 2:People will buy the full set at jacked prices, and there will be nothing else left to collect on thier list.I buy VHS so I don't have to worry!*^_^*
The reason I'm alive. No.. you don't understand.. we like it on DVD ^_^
DVD is our friend...
it lasts longer, has better quality, has better sound, and is generally all-around better!

It has nothing to do with Tenchi, anyway.. almost EVERY series is this stupid with prices..
Ranma½ for example: It costs about $150 for a whole series, dubbed VHS!
Pathetic, that is!

I despise the EVIL EVIL Pioneer.

"I believe everybody in the world
should have guns. uh i doubt it lasts longer, a few scratches in the right area can end its career. To end a career of a VHS tape, try recording over the same length about 100 times, which rarely happens. Plus tapes are better protected. You can whip somebody over the head with it and it'll just crack.
The All mighty
Cook her, eat her YUM!
Emperor Kagato's Gaming Fortress
Visit My school's website!

Uhh.. it does last longer..
the quality on a DVD doesn't deteriorate like a VHS does and will only break "IF YOU'RE BEING AN IDIOT". If you're commonly idiotic, I'd advise you to get VHS. In the case of normal people like me, get DVD, for a well-kept DVD won't ruin half as fast as a VHS.

"I believe everybody in the world
should have guns. Yup, it is way too much to pay, so i just make Vcd's off high quality divx files. Why pay $100 when you can pay $2 in cd's. I know it's not the real thing, but i just don't got that kinda money right now, i've already bought a Tenchi scroll and Tenchi in Love.

BTW, Zhuge Liang is a kickass name, i've played that game for years.

Going back a few thousand years, we find that mankind did not always have DVD's. Those wishing to maximize the life a VHS tape simply bought a copy. Then make a high quality copy. STORE THE ORIGINAL. And watch the copy.... when it wears out, make another copy.....

People reveal their true selves when drunk

--Japanese Proverb

Assaiki Yorokobi

(last name first in the Japanese fashion)

An interesting idea, Yoro, but, man! Those DVDs are expensive! Hopefully, Toonami For Teens will be approved, and then I'll just be able to record those episodes.

I am looking for a few good pilots.
